    Stolen Snowmobile

my commuting snowmobile was stolen in Truckee between 2-1 and 2-5 while i was away on a trip to Lassen. Stolen from Coldstream trail-head in the Donner State Park. State Park Rangers haven't even called me back so I am looking for any info that leads to its return. I will reward $$$ any info that help return it to me. Most likely stolen on Saturday by kids just above high school age with Old Toyota pickups that were seen joyriding it about that time. .

Its a Blue, Polaris 500 touring sled with no windshield. not worth much but really helps me get in an out

Please help me get this returned. thanks you

Rank your confidence (1 being low; 10 being the opposite of low) in the corn harvest tomorrow with the wind machine cranking up.

85% chance of corn on S aspects 10:30-2:00; I'd say 100% but if there's an inversion tonight (like there was last night) I don't know what to expect. N and E aspects still have some breakable crust.

Copy that. I guess it depends how quick those wind measurers start clipping out too.

Haven’t been on a skinner in a few weeks and considering getting the 8 year old out for his first hike.

    Thanks.

Report on how that goes much appreciated. My 8 yr old is still in a 230 bsl boot. Want to get him out but have not equipped him yet. A corn harvest sounds perfect.

I will. I’m thinking it might not happen tomorrow but it will be this spring. AKBruin’s daughters escapades inspire him. He’s got an unofficial goal to “beat” her by a year on a couple of her accomplishments. He wants Incline Peak at 9 and Shasta at 11.

He doesn’t understand that AKB is a bigger bad ass than me and that might be a factor. I just have to level up I guess.

You guys got some bad ass kids. Props.

Hoping to find some corn tomorrow at CP - say hi if you see a guy on a split that looks like a trout.

Nevada delivered in a weird way, as per usual. Seems like the storm track has been just to the northeast of Tahoe, giving parts of the basin some goods.

Any guesses on this locale? Its actually pretty close to Reno.

    Awwhh!

Outstanding corn on the CP yesterday on the southerly from 10+ all the way to the river. Cresscent moon is wind f*cked and un skiable. All of the Northerly stuff was drastically wind affected/windboard/ice mix. Corn window was probably prime 11am-2:30 ish.

you can see the rock hard wind textured windboard on the bottom . It was on all of the Northerly aspects:

Plan was to ski half moon, but it was wind scoured with giant footprints raising up. Decided to climb down it and hope it'd be skiable further down since I was already there and the other northerly stuff was bad anyway:

It was hard snow and steep, so I was climbing down backward with heavy 2-3 kicks to get solid footing. Got past the choke & all of the sudden, It felt a bit slippery on one foot. Remember when we used to climb on snow with Steel crampons? then Aluminum ones came out and we thought "wow, they are light!" - here's the downside:

Some people ask me why I use the "Back country ball (TM)" on my poles:
    1) The babes
    2) great for side hilling/grab down lower w/o switching poles
    3) awesome for hand anchors when climbing on hard snow - can punch through hard snow upside down if ya don't have an axe(in most cases)

So next time you see a guy with funny pole thingy's. Laugh, but not as hard.
Unfortunately, my manufacturing site is in Wuhan, so they are currently no longer in production

Kirkwood wasn't bad today. I wouldn't say it was good but it definitely wasn't bad. Some nice carveable snow around if you sniffed for it.

Grooming report: Monte's, Zachs, Olympic, Janek and Sentinal were all groomed which I've never seen before. Thumbs up. They also groomed to the top of the Wall just at the end of the ridge before you wrap around behind the cliffs. Never seen that either and there was some really windbuff there just below the top.

Ullr, please come back so I don't have to post any more grooming reports

I’m pretty sure this is only your third time not there on a powder day.

Vail is finally grooming like pre Vail. Almost. Need headwaters and Eagle. And about three more off the backside.

EDIT: just re read your post. Are you saying they groomed All The Way to the top? As in lookers right of the Wall?

maybe my 4th time. I blame my kids.

it's the area just lookers left of All The Way on the face proper. Where people normally drop in just at the end of ridge to skip most of the traverse track. You know it.

I don't ever remember them grooming Eagle, that would be nice with the sun..

dammit we were there today too. if i had seen your truck amongst the many gapermobiles in the pullout I would have thrown the tube of gold label in there.

i don't usually head up 50 on a saturday. are all of the pullouts always that much of a shitshow? it was fine getting there early but on the way back cars were overflowing into the slow lanes in the the passing zones like it was okay to do so

Mr Hankey, considered that line but in my head the northeast winds that probably blew a lot of snow there might not be consolidated yet up high, good to know it goes but holy shit down climbing in those spicy conditions and a crampon failure to boot, no thank you!

Powdork, yes the 50 corridor is a shit show most weekends now from the snowline up, causes pretty big traffic issues at times, No Parking signs are meaningless to these folks.

Gimpy Friday I took the spotting scope over for a few runs to Sierra specifically look that zone over, in the end I just didn't feel like risking fighting the bottom with my gimp knee, but here is a look at the zone as of Friday.
