Ottime was right. No chair 4 today and chair 10 opened at noon. Website claims 100% open on lift status page but homepage claims it will be 100% open this weekend. Not gonna complain anymore, just stating the facts.

Re: Castle Pk Slide. I frequently ski the "north side" of Castle, so if possible would appreciate some more information on the specific location, such as an overview picture, map or Google earth image with the slide area outlined, similar to reports typical to the Colorado Avalanche Info. Center. Are the pin-drop or GPS coordinates in the report accurate for the location? In the report it seems to be more off the ridge between Basin and Castle, which makes sense if the party was accessing from the Grub Hut. For skiing, I think of the "north side" of Castle as the chutes off the ridge just east of the eastern most prominence of Castle, and typically access from the I-80 Donner Summit rest-stop. Always do appreciate a narrative of human factors, but can understand when it is either delayed or withheld, particularly if the victim and party members are still recovering either physically or emotionally.

Today definitely qualifies as a sleeper pow day! Snowing steadily at Alpine with less than 50 folks lapping Summit all afternoon.
Thank you Sir, may I have another?

Another beautiful morning on the skinner. Today was more schralp-focused so no big fancy camera and not much stopping.

Great day at the wood. Shoulder stayed in its socket the whole time. Imagine it was fantastic out touring. OTOH, backside opened. Didn’t bother going back there to confirm. Too much fun on the front. Fresh inch on the deck railing.

Not only did the Backside at Kirkwood open, but Lookout Vista T-bar also did. I thought I missed the Backside opening as I was on my 2nd lap on the Wall when I saw Eagle Bowl and chair 2 were open. I did both and was about 20th chair on the Backside. I had three fast laps in the wind-buffed pow where I hardly crossed any tracks before leaving via a high entry into less wind-affected Thunder Saddle and One Man Chute. I also found some late afternoon untracked in Palisades using a traverse that was almost all gravity. Picture is Elevator Shaft from my first Backside chair.

ID:	306294 Early turns on Tamarak resort yesterday. Skipped buying a Rose pass this year and It's nice to not have the anxiety of wondering if I should have waited in line for an hour for 2 untracked runs.

Sleeper day for sure. Fresh lines in the chutes past noon, surprisingly light snow too. No lines all day...

Kudos to a north lake crew for both breaking trail and leaving plenty of goods for others (me). Click image for larger version.

Pour one out for a CO homegirl.

I hope people keep this in mind as we go into another cycle of inversions and then potential burial of the resultant surface hoar later in the week. That wasn't the main problem in the CO slide, but it was the culprit for our recent cycle around here. Choose wisely.

Can't complain about my first lap on KT this season...Cold smoke on crust but manageable. Deeper turns off Sibo. Great day.

Had a great morning at Alpine! Got there early and scored a couple great lines. Was still finding some fresh at Noon!
