One of my customers has a Crown Vic that he figures has about 725k on it. Odometer stopped displaying at 650 though so it’s an estimate.

I usually keep cars for 10-12 years. By that time, they have about 125-150k on them.

About to pass a quarter million miles on my '04 Chevy Tahoe. Bought it 8 years ago with 111,000 for $8,500. Helluva solid vehicle.

My ‘85 Marty McFly Toyota p/u came just shy of 500000km, the vast majority of them on forestry roads when I was consulting. That truck never left me stuck or stranded. I was rebuilding the rusted out box when the po-po took notice and forced it’s retirement.
My ‘03 taco just turned 260000km, so another couple years for the 2nd timing belt and water pump schedule. Other than that it’s been a steadfast daily driver and backcountry sled hauling rig. Too small for the family so a crew cab half-tonne serves the family trips and pulls the trailer.
Any of the work trucks, mostly full size half and 3/4 tons and a couple late model tacos, are pretty beat at 150000km, regardless the make or model. And that is going for service every 5000km. They don’t make em like they used to, but the drive is sure a lot more plush.

What is/was the highest mileage vehicle that still in active use?
My 97 F250 7.3 had 292,000 on it when I sold it. In the last year I owned it I put 6,000 miles on it in a 3 month period. Owned it for 5 years and sold it for more than I paid for it, though I did lots of mods/maintenance. I miss that truck. But I'd be lying if I said my new F150 wasn't nice as shit to drive.

My 1979 CJ shows 7400 on the ODO. No idea how many times it has flipped, but even at 10,000 miles per year, a 40 year old engine would have flipped that odometer 4 times.
I am assuming it has at least 307,400 on it, but it could be higher.
Engine is original 79 AMC 304 V8. Tranny was upgraded to a TH400 before I bought it in 2004.

Your degrees are too big. The rest of it's okay by me if we're taking a poll or something.

356711.
2003 Honda.
Pretty much everything else has fallen apart except for major mechanical parts. Here, the ignition module wore our and was going to be $,$$$ to replace. I rigged the wires and the chip key to function. No small feat that was.
On eBay Bay I bought some meth head skeleton keys that are ever present kept of the dash. If pulled by the police, I have meticulously coached my teen girls to only answer, “I have authorization to use this car” and nothing more.Ski Shop - Basement of the Hostel

There is one hard truth with high mileage cars:
Everyone that runs them has a very liberal definition of the words "routine maintenance".Live Free or Die

Wife is running a '98 Forester with 245,000 miles. Bought it from her mom about 17 years ago with only 20,000 miles on it.
I scored a '92 Toyota 4WD extra cab with 80,000 original owner miles from my neighbor 2 and half years ago for $2,500 and it's up to 95,000 miles.
Keeping our '13 Tacoma access cab off the road except for camping trips in the summer and the occasional winter weekend ski trip. It's got 75,000 miles on it. It's nice to not have any car payments!Buy the ticket...take the ride.

373 000 km's on my '07 Tacoma and counting. Fully expect to hit 500 k. Lots of Toyotas on these pages.

I am the original owner of a FOX body 5.0 mustang from the 80's with 322,000 miles on it. Thing is bombproof. Rarely drive it these days (only 22,000 in last 7 years) or it would probably have 400,000 on it. Original motor, rebuilt tranny at 125,000 and just about every other part has been replaced 2-3x over. Don't say American cars are terrible - all in the way you drive and maintain them.

Run the figures, sometimes it's cheaper to get rid of a car than keep running it
When I got the 2001 golf TDi minimum down payment, it was so cheap on fuel between skiing/ paddling/ the job I just drove it more,
96000 km in one year at which point it was gona need tires/ TB/ major service roughly 1500 $ and it would have half a million km by the time it was paid off
OR I could trade it in on a 2002 TDi , interest rates had gone down so it was only 10 $ a month more,
I'm thinking maybe I will get the red one this time (faster eh) but all they got is the same color, as I am signing the salesman asks "oh I should ask did you want to test drive ?"
Any difference I ask, no it's the exact same car well then I just did a 96000km test drive
and the new car was exactly the same ... It didn't even seem like I got a new carLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

I can see the irony you are trying to point out....but I am referring to water pumps, radiators, suspension bushings, shocks, springs, sensors, etc. Don't know too many cars driven daily that don't have those wear out or need replacement...Jap, European, and American.

Sold a 1999 legacy here a couple years ago. Easily had 325k. Speedo didn’t work for a decade of daily driving and had over 225 on the odometer.
