    Official 2019 / 2020 NHL Season

Kicking off the NHL thread for the upcoming season.

First preseason game is tomorrow already.

Hoping my Wild under promise and over deliver. No expectations from me on my squad this year at all. We inked Spurgeon to a 7 year, $53 million dollar contract today. Nothing like having all our money tied up on defense. We can’t score on an empty net. We need an infusion of offense bad.

My money is on Colorado this year. Put $400 on them to win it all this year when I was in Vegas a month ago. Oh would that be a nice payday 🤞🏻.

    Solid work, Sluff. Subscribed

Have tried not to think about hockey at all after a crushing no-show at home in game 7 in the Finals, but I guess its time...

Me too. That first period was stunning.

Bruins fans anxious to see what the future holds for restricted free agents McAvoy and Carlo, unlikely to be present at the first days of training camp per local reports. Krug apparently willing to ‘’take a hometown discount’’ to sign with the team, so hopefully that happens too.

    Toronto’s season will be intriguing

Hoping Krueger can finally get all the Sabres talent to win games consistently.

Hopefully the Coyotes don’t suck this year. Would make going to games worth it.

Devils are going yard, I can feel it

The correct answer is a Blues repeat, obviously......

Caps looked good against the Blues last night!

Once we get past Kuzy’s coke habit we should be ok!

Backstrom in a contract year! Look out!

So who will be the last RFA holdout? Report yesterday said Laine and Rantanen are not close to signing.

Good game this afternoon. Really good seats. Less than ideal outcome. Wilson got his usual 10 minute misconduct penalty. Oshe was damned good, 2 goals. Both captains skipped this last pre season game. Rest of the starters played though.

Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

I wish basketball season would run concurrent with baseball rather than almost the same season schedule as hockey. Not as hard as it used to be to find hockey on in bars/pubs but still annoying how much coverage basketball gets when there is a far superior game being played.

Watching a bit of Leafs/Ott. A pretty sweet goal by Ott was called back on video review for being offside after a player lifted his back foot off the ice milliseconds before the puck completely crossed the line. Yeah ok, technically that is offside by whatever definition the league established I get it. But if it was that close that a linesman missed it and video review is needed to spot it, is it really going to have any bearing on the play? Meanwhile the league has been harnessing its collective brain power on how to increase scoring. I've got a great idea... HOW ABOUT STOP CALLING BACK GOALS OVER BULLSHIT TECHNICALITIES.

They're going to ruin the game with stupid shit like this. If it's an egregious missed calls sure have an appeal mechanism. But use common sense for the rest. So many other things go on during a game that are missed that can also affect outcome directly or indirectly. This is what happens when you let the lawyers run the league. Put the dentists back in charge, please....

Who are the top draft prospects this year? My Wild SUCK! We have become the new Coyotes of the league. This is going to be a long, painful season ☹️

Bruins return basically the same group, all a year older. Chara got his baller-ass AARP card in the mail the other day I think. They look sharp coming out of the gate but can they climb the mountain again? Seems like too much to expect but if they can stay healthy and rested...big ifs though.

Love Doughty burning the Canucks: "A team like that should not be beating a team like ours 8-2"
