My work spouse is a flat earther

She also doesn’t believe we landed on the moon - or at least very skeptical it actually happened. I’m surprised I didn’t know this from five years of working with her. I knew she had ultra right-wing beliefs, but she truly believes that physics can prove earth is flat since water can’t bend. And that there is no proof we landed on the moon. When I pressed her with facts and knowledge bombs she could only say “well, I wasn’t there so there is no way of knowing”. She also referred to the interweb to prove her points. I told her this puts her in a category of people who I don’t have time for or have any desire to interact with.

I’ve heard of these people, never met a flat-earther before.

Is this the same chick that got blasted and tried to cheat on her husband with you, then told him you did after you said no?

I used the slope angle finder app on my phone to prove to my wife that my airplane tray table was flat the other day.

She doesn't understand surface tension. Or basic physics for that matter.
When pressed, she said "have you ever seen water bend? of course you haven't, therefore the earth cannot be round"

Otherwise she's fairly smart and really good at her job. Just a nut who believes in too many conspiracy theories.

Gravity tends to hold all the water in place. That and the magnetic poles keep it from being slowly vaporized and ionized by charged particles from the sun and stripping it away a la Mars.
But what do I know, it's only basic fundamental physics and Earth science.
This is what happens when we let people like the DeVos's run the schools.
    No longer stuck.

Doesn't this clearly show water bending?

The conversation began when she said there was "literally a thousand years of proof Jesus was a living man and rose from the dead". I don't generally shit on folks' religious beliefs, but I let her know what I think of the zombie jesus myth. That turned into "oh, you probably fell for the earth is round hoax" and that water can't bend. I can't even engage. I need a work spouse divorce. Maybe the new gal in HR wants to be my new work spouse, she seems grounded.

I don't know. Take a garden hose, point it up in the air not quite straight, and watch what happens. Or, walk her over to the water fountain, turn it on, and say, see, dumbass?

I can relate, though. I worked with a moon landing/9/11 denier at my last job. A bit dorky, but, otherwise, a productive, tax paying member of society.
