I showed her cool photos of swimmers just about to break the surface tension of water - I think she believes those are fake. But I can't burn any calories trying to convince her.

It's a ubiquitous term that I felt would describe my close relationship with flat-earthier in a way most others in professional life would understand.

My well service guy is a flat earther. It’s amazing. He seems to know the science and tech very well about wells and groundwater. When he first brought it up to me (his beliefs) along with the helpful statement, people debate me about it all the time but I always “win,” I chose not to engage. He still services my well, but he blew it. Super awkward.

That turned into "oh, you probably fell for the earth is round hoax" and that water can't bend. I can't even engage. I need a work spouse divorce. Maybe the new gal in HR wants to be my new work spouse, she seems grounded.
But what we really want to know is: what's her position on climate change? Asking for a friend

The whole water bending thing is on a global scale.

In her head, if the earth is round, then that would mean that the water in the middle of the Atlantic must be higher than the water at either side. Because water doesn't "bend" this can't happen.

And if that's the confusion good luck explaining gravity.

I had to Google "work spouse" as I had never heard the term before.

If she is your work spouse how will this be possible unless one of you quits your job?

Tell her you have a rare form of herpes that can jump 15 ft at a time and she should not be in the same room with you.

OK take a straw in a glass of liquid.. Plug the top with your finger and lift it out of the glass to show her the water still inside the straw upside down.. Then tell her gravity sucks like the straw does. Scientifically incorrect but it will certainly fuck with her head about the fact that water can be upside down without falling..
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

My wife found out the associates call her and another partner Mom and Dad. They responded by referring to them in correspondence as the kids.

Well I've got 2, but I also recently learned that my seemingly normal and give you the shirt off his back neighbor is a flat earther and conspiracy theorist of the highest degree. From flat earth to no moon landing to elections results are known months before the election. The inside of my mouth is still recovering from biting my tongue to keep from laughing in his face a couple of months back. He is a mechanical engineer also. I did ask him what his wife and 2 sons (one is a doctor) think of it and he hemmed and hawed and admitted they weren't buying. Amazing.

If this surfaced at home, could be grounds for divorce with a real wife.
