    cool engines, for sure ,

    don't know much about the design, but basically a piece of metal spinning around crazy fast.

    like 8k rpms no big deal. saw an early rx7 datsun this summer, pretty cool..

    The RX7 had a nice winning period in the 80s. Dominated the class. Really sounded awful, though.

    The RX2 was a killer machine in the mid seventies. Buddy had one that fucking screamed, 9k redline, unreal on the freeway.

    I think loud cars/trucks/bikes are dumb. There, I said it. You can make a perfectly fast car that isn't obnoxiously loud. It's just a way to help insecure people buy some self esteem.
    However many are in a shit ton.

    wankel engines sort of fire differently.
