That pinnacle of AMG thingy looks like a pagani.

whatever Bobby says DD, I dig the e55. Then were not on my radar until some guy showed up at my house to buy some bimmer parts, and he arrived in one of those. Things that make you go hmmmm.

Do you feel like yours has lost much vim at 150k?
I bought mine at 65k and the answers about the timing chain were kind of vague, but I'm assuming it's been done. The place where I take it 4 time a year or so says the chain is in great shape. But, it's like the perfect car: awd station wagon w/ a manual, there's no real replacement. So goin forward, it's either a new engine or redoing the chain. No plan to sell.

I think it's lost a little zip, but the 60-80 punch is still so great.

At 20 average mpg, I'm feeling guilty.

Other than that, I admittedly haven't done the teardown to check.

I love the the NA E55. I like the CLK55 of the same vintage even more. The 2003 E55 was a game changer in the industry.

CLK63BS is one of the best cars ever produced by Mercedes, besides the SLS.

Aston Martins are basically super nice AMGs Benzes now. You should check those out DD. Look for Benz to own Aston soon.

Look baller for 50k and have the best sounding V8 out.

Not in person. Sure didn't sound like a Rav 4.

    Hmm- twin turbo V8.
Skip the dumb intro, but this shows the sound pretty well.

I was driving a V12 twin turbo CL600. Too powerful and the turbos rolled on like a hand grenade. Didn’t like the turbo whine either. GF has a direct injected V8 twin turbo. The direct injection is loud. The turbo lag is minimal though so it’s not too annoying.

My personal cars are both naturally aspirated V8 and love both of them. So smooth and great sound. The power rolls on perfectly. N/a V8 and in-line 6 are my favorite engines.
