The dealer I just spoke of was in fact in Illinois.
Awesome dog shot Ted. They look like good beer drinking companions.

It was kinda funny because I saw the Ionic, fumbled around for my phone, missed the opportunity, and the people at my table - all of the fairer gender - were "why are you trying to take a picture of that weird car?" Me: nvrmnd... I'll get a pic of these beer buddies instead.
The herding dog (not mine) is a sweetheart. Ol' Ghostface however, can be a handful. The third dog (not pictured) just chills. Until a skateboard or onewheel goes by.

After my first 5 or 6 hours of ownership and 300km i plugged it in to 120v. 120v is laughable, my car said 67 hours til full from 9%. I quickly installed a 240v outlet and bought a 40A (50A2P breaker) ( 9.6kW) charger. Until I upgrade the feed to my garage I have it on a 20A2P breaker.
And, Yes, you have 240 in your house.

That's a better idea. I was assuming a bit from Ariel's previous odd little half-developed track cars and the big thick surfaces. But the "no step" region right under the door is more logical if the mouth is just starting to open and the legs are about to kick out to the side--in a few seconds that'll disappear. Yeah, that makes more sense.

A couple down the street from my parents have his and hers Hummer EV's. Something that weighs 9000lbs should not be able to launch like that on tires like that.

Plenty of cooling needs for EVs, there’s three seperate radiators at the front https://equipmake.co.uk/products/hipercar/

The Icon guy said management of different cooling systems was the biggest challenge on their '49 Merc EV conversion. Batteries, controllers. Lots of heat.

Sounds like it would also be conditioning battery packs to work better (or something like that) so would it also extend the life of the pack? If so it could make some of the current crop of e-cars worth more, or at least have more value, when they go to the used market.

No it would make the current generation not as valuable since the new tech requires different battery set up and charging stations.
Maybe out 10 to 20 years still.

The researchers plan to use their model to develop even better methods and to help design new lithium-ion batteries that are optimized to undergo fast charging. Dufek says that the ultimate goal is for electric vehicles to be able to “tell” charging stations how to power up their specific batteries quickly and safely.
The researchers acknowledge support and funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Vehicle Technologies Office.
