I'm in from the 14th to the 20th. Had a great time last year and regretted not coming for the full week.
Andermatt and sedrun had their first snow last week down to 1400m

Pretty sure I'll be with you guys from 10-15th, coming from Engelberg.
I like the sound of these short skins to the goods--makes me think my Guardian set-up isn't obsolete yet.

A foamed saffron and prawn bisque with grapefruit sorbet at the https://wynegg.ch/en/ pretty much encapsulated the trip.
Which was actually even better than the prawn and asparagus soup at https://www.roseg-gletscher.ch/en/home.html:

Thanks Buster I was (mostly) joking, I'm sure the food is amazing.
Thinking I might actually be able to go this year. Plenty of time to spread out the costs so that the trip is paid for by March with little to no pain.. can work out a few swaps between now and then to get work off with less pain on my vacation accruals too..
Any EC mags thinking about going? Out of Logan or Manchester? PM me. wouldnt mind having a travel buddy, and am going to try and talk my (non-mag but ripping skiier) bro in law into going. Subscribed

Non-stop from BOS currently $650. waiting to pull the trigger to see if any EC mags decide to go.
How long out is the best time to book the flight? Did you guys bring skis, or rent while over there? Traveling with skis kinda sucks

Be sure you understand the airlines baggage policies. Air France and British Air usually have the best deals including 1 bag (skis).
I'm not sure about when is the best time, I'd set a watch on google or kayak and some upper threshold and lower. I got a $600 rt out of Seattle on AF, 1 stop in Paris, hop to ZRH.
I always bring my own stuff, travel light, bring my own skis, carryon a 40L and boots, stuff the heavier goretex in with the skis.
There's lots of rental options, good quality equipment available, but the train stations are in most of the airports (BSL requires a bus transfer), so it's pretty easy.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

I brought my own. I like familiarity with my skis. Plenty of rental options for quality sticks though. Travel to Europe with gear is easy. Stuff the ski bag, keep it under 60lbs. Carry boots on with a pack. That’s how I rolled. Train travel is geared towards packs n ski bags. I bought tickets last year in October, $489 rt from seatac to Zurich.

If the conditions are like last year you are going to want a versatile 110ish ski. Soft dry pow to spring conditions then there are some ripping piste runs. Vendul has some DOWN skis to offer as quality rental while there’s another shop in the area that has a more euro ski flavor (read piste skis).
I brought BC Corvus with shifts and was pretty dialed. Would absolutely do it again. Though there were moments that wish I was riding Billy Goats.

Luke is right, I would travel light and bring my own skis, rail traveling in Switzerland is very smooth.... Downski gave us some test skis and we love for all of you to test them! But we don’t rent them

I think most maggots would find the rentals available a bit shorter and narrower than most would prefer.

That's what she said (badum dum)
Just saw Swissair direct BOS/ZRH for $601, be aware of their baggage fees.
Imagine picking your skis up at SLC and walking to the car pickup. It's that easy with Swiss trains, even de Gaulle has the direct Lyon connection now in the airport. Super slick and easy.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski
