Unfortunately I have hurt myself skiing. I have a tibia plateau fracture and will have surgery this week. No word yet on ligament damage. I was really looking forward to visiting and will try to make it happen next year.

Vendul I have sent along an email regarding my reservation

Well gents. I hope you guys have a great trip, and I hope that you have no problems returning home when you're done.

Trump just suspended ALL travel to/from Europe for the next 30 days (at least). We're supposed to be flying out late Friday. Not happening. So I guess we won't be joining you this year Definitely planning on doing this next winter, and there are no words to describe our disappointment and depression over having to cancel this trip.

If there was someplace to be stranded indefinitely -- it'd be in Michele and Serena's warm home. With Piz Mahler across the valley and couloirs aplenty to ski to the north.

Vibes ya'll. Hope vendul stocked enough liquor and coffee for the mag appetite.

Hahaha well I am dreaming too. Two littles at home by oneself for a month. Wouldn't wish that on the wife!

Yeah it'd be great! Till they close the ski areas down (already closed Ticino, which is just south of Andermatt and Disentis)

Plus I'm guessing not everybody can just chill in CH for a month. Most people have jobs, families that they will need to get back to...
    edit: this

being stuck on a different continent during a global pandemic where people are freaking the fuck out would probably worry loved ones a bit more than normal... plus "unpaid leave" sucks

I really, really hope & pray that things go well for those over there who need to get back home (and those that can stay) May your flights not be cancelled, your ski areas not be closed, and your glasses not be empty. Fingers crossed for you guys
coronavirus fuck you right in the ass
