Carvehard is right... for sure Zermatt is not a free riders dream, but it has to be seen once... especially if it's for free

Here's a great list of tours out of https://www.mt-lodge.com/ :

vendul clearly operates from the "in" crowd if he can do Zermatt on the free plan. Talk about expensive.

Sorry if this is too off-topic... I could use some advice about new skis for this trip, so I thought I'd ask here, since I know how you guys ski (and vice versa).
I'm coming off 2013 Blizzard Cochise's (108mm). I loved them, except the neutral underfoot camber *sucked* on piste.
I also have Blizzard Bonafide's (98mm). Love their flex, but want something else in the upper 100mm's more suited to fresh snow but that can still "do everything."
My starting point for research... Anyone have any firsthand tips or good review resources? Several of these aren't as fat as I think I'd want, or should I not be so particular about that? THANKS
1) Nordica Enforcer 104 Free - Overall Score: 4.12 / 5 (I also see a 110mm)
2) Salomon QST 106 - Overall Score: 4.06 / 5
3) Head Kore 105 - Overall Score: 4.02 / 5
4) K2 Mindbender 108Ti - Overall Score: 3.94 / 5
5) Fischer Ranger 107 TI - Overall Score: 3.86 / 5
6) Rossignol Soul 7 HD (106) - Overall Score: 3.82 / 5
7) Dynastar Legend X106 - Overall Score: 3.81 / 5Last edited by carvehard; 10-28-2019 at 05:15 PM.

I skied my Dynastar x106 with you last year. I really have no complaints about the ski. Super easy going yet can haul ass when called upon. Its super playful with a charger side to it.
The only day i wished for more ski was at Oberalppass on the deep day. Still wasn’t an issue, more of a want than a need as they floated just fine.
I have an in-depth review of them in the Dynastar thread.
Gonna miss hangin and skiing with ya this year man.

If the Rossi Soul 7 is anything like the super 7, with that enormous tip rocker, I did not like that ski nor the original planque du dentiste, the DPS RP112. Flappers.
I ski a zero camber ski, the old Lotus 120, and like it a lot, but it's 120 mm in the waist. Bumps are challenging on them, but I don't ski bumps that much anymore.
If you're freeriding hors piste in the wild schnee, I'd think something closer to 110 mm waist would be good. Have you looked into Down skis: https://www.downskis.com/shop/countdown-114-2019 . Made by maggots geo and sisi, distributed out of Geneva/Lausanne. They have a little bit of camber.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

Way behind in this thread, but this wasn’t bungled. Everyone was going with the flow and I should’ve been better prepared. Still had a killer day hanging with LWS, 2funky, cascade and others.
We’re winding down an extremely hectic fall, so haven’t been able to put much thought into this trip yet. Time to dedicate some time!

If anyone is looking to mix this trip in with a big tour, Dan is guiding the Urner haute route starting on the 23rd.
<$1300 for 5 days of guiding, 4 nights of lodging, all meals except lunch and beers is pretty sweet.
Oh yeah, skiing is pretty rad to.

I am going to start selling shit to see if I can raise the funds to pay for this. That and convince the wife I need to blow a few grand on a ski vacation again without her.

For those wondering -- Vendul's drink prices really aren't that expensive.
Some people just know how to live. (And were there for an extended stay.)

Mt Lodge has great food and mellow bar prices. Overall a value! My tab amount matched 2Fs apparently. Weird

I found half price tickets for the Ski Arena: https://winter.plus/halbpreis-abo/
The half-price subscription for Andermatt + Sedrun + Disentis will be available from 18 November 2019. It costs CHF 41 for adults and CHF 20.50 for children (6 to 15 years) and reduces each day pass by 50%. You will benefit on the first day of skiing.
With the discount, day tickets are 41 chf, so about $42/day.
Don't know what the deal is with TicketCorner yet.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski
