Joker
I am not really a fan of Todd Phillips (best known for The Hangover trilogy), so I wasn't really checkimg for this film.
Plus, how is anybody ever really going to top Heath Lender's Joker?
Yet I do respect Joaquin Phoenix's thespian skills.
At any rate, I have seen 2 trailers for this film now and I must say that it looks promising...

The film is already sparking controversy after a few festival screenings.
Here is to hoping it doesn't get shelved like the recent film The Hunt did...

I'm stoked for this one, though I'll be surprised if it holds a candle to Nolan.

Oh yeah, the King of Comedy homage, I mean, rip-off, I mean influence permeates this thing; with a little bit of Killing Joke and a lot a bit of Azzarello's OGN.
Can The Joker be interesting without Batman? I really doubt it. Regardless, I have little interest in these gritty, bleak, pseudo-mature comic stories.

Having been a critic myself, I tend to take what most critics write with a grain of salt. I mean the average critic loves them some hyperbole beyond belief.
Right now The Joker buzz is whirling with a frenzy.

I've been binging American Horror Story: Apocalypse this week.
My takeaway: Kathy Bates would have made a terrific Joker.
Dye her hair green, apply a little grease paint, and a wicked and twisted lipstick smile and she'd be good to go!
