Guide dropped my helmet off a cliff- who is responsible?
Sure. I guess. But....
If you seek to profit off of people who have the cash to do heli drops, you aren’t exactly a fucking charity. It’s not like the heli op is running a goddamned pancake breakfast fundraiser so they can continue to provide educational services to disadvantaged youth. I’m not sure why cok is supposed to just walk away from this.
If they’re liable they’re liable. And if they’re liable that guide and everybody in his chain knew right away. Either “I took responsibility for the helmet and fucked up” or “the customer didn’t follow clear instructions.” I don’t think there’s an in between here. We don’t know what it actually is. But they sure as hell do. And if they’re trying to slide out of the former, well, it speaks to much larger and more systemic problems that are frankly terrifying for a heli op, and I’d be a dick about it too.focus.

For the employer, the guide giving the customer his helmet should also be a total non starter. This happens and somebody is taking the heli down. Full stop.

Never heli biked... maybe one day
If they dropped your helmet, company owes you a helmet (like OP asked, company, not guide)Originally Posted by blurred

There was a season ending sale at my local bike shop. I just bought my replacement and I guess I’ll move on.
