    Hey guys!

I just want to ask, do you guys use earplugs? I have very sensitive ears that always get infected when I kayak and surf. Sometimes even the wind hurt my ears when I'm biking. I'm planning to get some custom made earplugs because I have weird angled canals too. Second thing I want to ask is, what do you think about these plugs on the video? They are made by Big Ear and I wonder if anyone here have already tried this brand. I'm also open to suggestions and recommendations. I just love outdoor activities and I really need to protect my ears so I'd really appreciate your response.

    Thank you in advance!

I didn’t wear them for a couple of decades boating cold whitewater, and doctors ask if I kayak or surf. I think plugs are a great idea, but I can’t vouch for any product

No experience with Big ear products. For a time I used the off the shelf ones, forget the brand. They worked fine for me but if you have unique ear holes you may need a custom plug.

I have had friends who had the ear canal surgery and you do not want that.

^^^ 15 years of kayaking in cold water have left me with one very fucked up ear canal.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Check out Doc's Proplugs. I had good success with them when I used to paddle in cold water a lot. I never got infections before (or after) using them, but I was definitely a fan.

east, apologies to your friend, I don't think they make butt plugs.

I use earplugs. I agree you can get ear infections without them.

Not just ear infections, but surfer's ear.

I use them when paddling or surfing cold water. Lots of options out there; the drugstore "christmas-tree" looking ones worked fine for me. And they were cheap enough that I could leave 'em in my PFD, bags, etc., and not worry too much if I lost some.
