Damn, we're in a tight spot!

Hurricanes 2019 (and other Tropical Shit storms)

We’ve spent a bunch of time on the coast during storm season. Just got back from a week in NC. Water is still warm, there’s nobody there, and everything is on sale and discounted. The odds are heavily in your favor. Just make sure you sport for that insurance.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

She knew what she was risking. She's lived in NC for over a decade and her family's from Puerto Rico.

We were in Kiawah Island, SC for 6 days and just got back on Friday.
3 days later evacuation order in the area.
    Wishing everybody’s safety.

Nah, that seat is trash, and weighs a ton. The vinyl is all gone in many spots. Not even bothering to re cover it. I am having that spot converted to a fold down type hideaway seat eventually. Right now, the seat works just fine. All the other vinyl was redone before I bought it.

Kind of hard to see where they are getting the northern turn from. That map looks like it should get pushed south.

I’m sure you’re reading the nhc forecast discussion. It could be interesting to observe how the ridge to the north of the storm weakens (forecasted) which will allow the storm to move north.

    The Bahamas are fucked.

My college roommate has a beautiful compound in Hope Town, Elbow Cay.

Communication is sketchy, by Sat phone only right now. Total devastation, Sea Spray Marina is gone.

Seriously vibes to the Bahamas. Having a Cat 5 hurricane stall out over you is pretty much a worst case scenario. I can imagine that some areas will be virtually swept clean of everything.
Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Yep, Puerto Rico still hasn't recovered from the last one there. Gonna be a horrific aftermath.

For people in the Bahamas, that has to be about what they are thinking. I can't imagine the stress of sitting under that thing for 48 hours listening to it rage all around you.

At what point do these folks give up and figure out how to move? I get that it's paradise most of the time, but it seems every 2-5 years they get slammed. Takes a lot of perseverance to keep rebuilding. Sucks that many have no choice or re$ource$ to leave.

The storm is still parked. How was that image captured? Through the eye, maybe?
