Well, southern coast is side open.. Not the case for northern OB. Called the hotel to check and they said they're still closed. Good news though that they had no problem refunding our non refundable payment. Might go someplace else since we still already tool PTO Monday.

There would be mass chaos pretty much anywhere with that level of universal devastation. Wouldn't surprise me of a lot of the Puerto Rico aftermath death toll was people fighting over very scarce food and water. Some of that happened post Katrina and the 9th wasn't totally disconnected from society the way these islands are when society there gets leveled..

West Grand Bahama and Freeport didn't look that bad. I mean it's bad but not like the photos of east GB and Abaco. Everyone has been extremely civil and polite, people are pitching in and helping each other. Met a random dude who is kind of our fixer now.

I read 100 knot winds in the city. That is exposure for a major city.

Dorian whacked Nova Scotia pretty good yesterday, it made landfall just south of Halifax as a category 2 I believe, but thewindspeeds are a little hard to find right now for whatever reason. But 100+ I read.

Lots of small, private relief efforts. People flying their private planes into the Bahamas with food.

The media is really not covering any of it. Instead they gave more coverage to the Trump/Alabama blunder on the Sunday morning talk shows.

Thankfully we haven’t been in those areas yet. They are still off limits to all but first responders. Today we are taking a boat to East Grand Bahama, I’m hoping I get to go just to see it.

Carnival Cruise Lines got some good coverage for sending several of their cruise ships there full of food and supplies.

EDT.. It's Royal Caribbean, not Carnival..

Ya’d think by now a trump blunder would be non news. Maybe they can report when he does not look like an ass. That would be breaking news.

Americans have very little attention span for anything happening outside of the states. “News” channels need viewers to get advertising dollars. Ah, capitalism. Thank god for that.

Local CA BPR station has had decent coverage.

There is some serious carnage out there, and on the outer islands it’s lord of the flies right now. To turn to utube to watch what’s happening out there is a disgrace to all media.

But then some story about customs giving some people a hard time makes the headline. Aka trump storyline and they run it.

    Pieces of shit.
