made some Shanghai Wonton Soup yesterday, tasty, if not terribly manly.

seafood stews so often seem like wastes of really good seafood.

Dang. Now I want to make some Posole. Not normally what you would consider on a 95 degree day but it does sound good as does Lasagna Bolognese.

Lately I've been dreaming of cooler weather and wearing soft fuzzy sweaters.

In discussing soup it is important to make the distinction between soup that is an introductory course and soup that is the main course. For the former--Cuban black bean, for the latter minestrone.

PS--I tried making minestrone in a crock pot when our kitchen was being remodeled and we didn't have a stove. It was awful.
Minestrone is not a crock pot dish.

Posole with some chili’s sounds perfect for a hot day.
