I'd get whatever Antonio Brown uses:

Cheap chest freezer half-filled with water and run on a timer to keep the water ~35* F.

How would you circulate the cold water?

I’m looking at this unit, because it’s small and quiet.

Going in for rotator cuff surgery soon and I hate pain.

I don't know the best cold machine since we've only used one, but we've found these cold packs (can also be used for heat) to be very useful, in addition to the cold machine.

I am just recovering from full ACL replacement this spring and was supplied with a Breg polar care Kodiak. Worked real well.

If you're near JH, come and get it, you'd need to buy the shoulder piece though or figure out how to apply the knee one.

Pre-surgery a friend loaned me his EB Ice brand machine which also worked well and had a dial for increase/decrease flow.

I didn't have a ton of pain to contend with but when it did hurt, the cold was a great and quick relief.

Ah, disregard, thought you were asking about a whole-body cold tub type of unit.

That's a compression machine, not a cold therapy machine. Compression is the last thing you want on a newly operated body part, unless you're a masochist.

The best part is--the various body part attachments are made from old jeans.

I used the DonJoy Iceman after my knee surgery in May and if worked great. You need to make sure you have a few layers between you and the pad or it gets too cold.

When I used mine for the acl repair many moons ago I would single wrap the knee, then the pad followed by multiple wraps with another towel which helped hold it in place.

Watched a lot of all female work out shows and day time soaps.

This sounds more like stolen kidney, left alive in a bathtub type setup, but hey...whatever floats your boat.

    Check out gameready https://gameready.com/

Temperature settings, timer settings, 4 compression options (none-level3). Unit is the size of a small duffel, easy to manage by yourself post-surgery. The ice (or hot) water goes in a compartment on the unit, and it pumpd from there. there's a super-adjustable velcro sleeve connected by hose to the main unit, lots of room to work with. Long cables to reach the couch.

I've used it for one knee surgery and two tibia repair surgeries - am using it now as i type (second tibia surgery).

I think rental is $300/2 weeks, 120/wk after the first 2 weeks. Well worth it IMO.

Not sure about a shoulder attachment, but i bet they have one.
