I don’t have a favourite late summer meal, but my mom always plants some spinach in her garden after she clears and turns it in the fall.
As soon as the ground thaws it starts to grow, so she has fresh spinach super early in the season.
The first spinach salad of the year is my favourite.

My pickled eggplant and peppers has sat in vinegar for 2 weeks. Today, I get to enjoy the finished product. DELICIOUS!

Lobster season starts about the 1st week of October which is the end of summer in San Diego. Fresh lobster tacos are the shizzle.

Still about 3wks of summer yet even if the nights are now dipping to 5C on occasion. Enjoying salmon and ling cod from our fishing trip a couple weeks ago, with our garden corn, beans, tomatoes, and cukes with late season (everbearing) strawberries for dessert. Fresh basil, dill, parsley are all on deck for sauce.
