I didn;t get in, and not sure if it was 100% public, or a "friends and family" kinda thing.

watch the twitter-verse, or call the phone old school style and see this weekend?

On that note, yesterday I watched a snow boarder drop the small cliff skiers right side in North Bowl, eject on the landing, and have his board take off full speed down the bowl. That guy was in for a LONG walk out unless someone was able to recover it.

Speaking of long walks, since Alaska Airlines decided to leave my skis in Seattle, I was on rental Salomons with Warden demo bindings on Thurs, from Revelstoke Powder Rentals. I knew something was wrong when I clicked out in some powder at a pretty low speed. Later on, coming off the ripper traverse, I dropped a face that had some harder snow underneath, double ejected (for no apparent reason), and started a head first slide. When I got back to my skis, the toe piece of one of the skis had come off!!

Now I'm fucked as a 1 ski with poles and second ski is really quite hard. I walk ALL the way down to Ripper to be told to ride back up to get a sled ride out. Patrol meets me with a rescue ski. Cool. He takes a look at the toe piece and low and behold there is a lever that flicks up to adjust it on the rail. So I could have actually reattached myself.

Moral of the story, rental skis suck, and stay far away from Warden demo bindings, as the attachment mechanism is incredibly flimsy. Powder did not charge me for the rental.

Haha, I wish. I was up for a few hours in the morning before work but it was still closed when I left around lunchtime. They had the gate on and the bamboo set up for the queue but I have no idea if anyone got a lap in.

You forget to check the screws on the bindings and rip them off the board. (Don’t ask how I know)

You didn't miss much. Opened about 12:30. I'd call it a minor but consistent case of wind slab top to bottom/left to right, a little grabby but predictable. Not sure what I expected but it seems like its been a season so far of fairly consistent snowfall and not much for wind events so I was hoping for better...but really it wasn't that bad (patrollers did a good job of downplaying it).

Hey, thanks for noticing the post.

Yeah, still getting out to all the zones along that road....still don't know how to ski.

Fun fact: Current go to touring partner is the kid with the toque in avatar.

My buddy is looking for a twin tip setup, just something affordable if anyone has something. 180-185, some rocker, if there's any deals I'm down to check it out. He's getting into skiing, getting better and better.thanks for checking out!
