Great few days at Marmot. Fresh snow, early season crowds and today it cleared up for some bluebird Peak (or at least 2/3rds) laps.

Stellar conditions at the Banff/Louise 3 this week with today being especially good - perfect light and blower snow.

I was too busy skiing and then recovering to answer this important question. I would say average up high and above average down low. Not very many people, Friday or today. Lots of soft snow here and there. Of course some rocks but reasonable. Way better start than last year. It was a better than last year 2 weeks ago when I toured up to prayer flags.

That sounds pretty good. Certainly better than it's been at Whistler and will be once I get back to Kimbo and Fernie.
I might need to stop at KH to ski on my way home after the 13th.

Anyone know how to figure out when fernie might open more terrain?
I don't see much "talk" on their snow report... it's just numbers, and those numbers are not great right now with only 2 runs open.
I have a trip planned for this weekend and thursday is a "flex" day... if a bunch of new terrain will open up that day going out early would likely be worth it.

Like a lot of ski hills Fernie now mainly communicates info via FB. So that says:
“ TIMBER BOWL WILL BE OPEN TOMORROW!
At 9 am the Timber Chair will be open to the public. The White Pass Chair will be running with good coverage and great skiing throughout the Timber Bowl to the White Pass bottom.
*Downloading will be available, and recommended.”

Thanks for the info guys.
Too bad I won't be there when it's first opened but I'll take the fact that more terrain will be open when I'm there.

Firm groomers at Panorama this afternoon. Coverage on anything that's not man-made is still thin.

White pass is gooooood today!
Skiing to the bottom is pretty doable but the bottom 1/3 or so is packed down high moisture content snow and kind of work/sketch.

Another nice refresh at fernie and white pass is great again.
Summer road /ski out is little better than yesterday but the very bottom is still pretty marginal.
