Shitty. Based on reports from K-country safety sounds like it’s a little spooky there too.

Hope some of you got some at Fernie the last couple days. I was busy slaying hardpack at Nakiska while kid was in lessons.

Skied k country on Thursday. I certainly wouldn't be in the alpine or much below or for that matter And I did get a few isolated pockets to slough in the trees then engaged fat kid mode and had one step down.

i think the problem is that the cannisters are full. and then putting 5-6 folks up in a plane like that is a danger. i don't really know. i'm just trying to help them get the best experience they can get. prices quoted somewhere in revelstoke for a week of rentals was as much as buying a new cannister

they all fly with their bags.

    2019/2020 CANADIAN ROCKIES THREAD

Inversion still in effect yesterday so Sunshine was quiet and skiing well with reported 9 new, a touch firm underneath. Village level was cold but just above a little and good to go...until about 2pm where the temp dropped higher up as well.

Other than Spooky and mntlion, anybody else at Sunshine this season?

Fernie was very good this weekend. Only seemed busy from 11-12 and then 1-2 on Saturday. even then, lines weren't too bad. Really nice snow, especially off Snake.

    It's a heartbreaker. I can't even imagine.

Rescues always suck. Even the successful ones. I hear digging up dead people sucks worse, although thankfully I haven't had to do that (yet. fingers crossed, knocking on wood).

This is something that my spouse and I have been discussing at length as we consider, plan, and logistically visualize and talk through our touring objectives/days.

It's definitely changed my/our touring decisions and personal risk tolerances when compared to those (and our concerns and responsibilities) from when we were single.

And I've always been pretty damn conservative when compared to lots of my friends, many of whom aren't here anymore.

I absolutely love skiing, but to paraphrase Mike D, skiing isn't worth dying for.

    YMMV.

A few more recent shots, this time from Louise on Saturday.

A few of the Whitehorn II gullies opened and everything else skier's left of there was skiing very nicely.

The snow just keeps on falling in Fernie, I don’t think we’ve gone a day since the new year where it hasn’t snowed at least 10cm. It’s almost (almost) becoming a little unsettling. It looks like maybe on Monday we might actually get a little sun.

RMR did not suck today. The "Unlimited Assets" gate has a spicy entrance, but it really good below.

Shocking how many snowboards at Revy. I couldn't think of a worse resort for snowboarding with all the traverses, hikes, and flat spots.

You've obviously never been to Sunshine.

What's the deal with castle mountain's website this year... they haven't updated the snow report since January 11th?
