It’s a laser shark lure! Shit, it looks just like the one that went missing from my tackle box a few weeks ago.

So what do they do with all the pre-booked parties and weddings etc. up top in the event of winds that shut down the gondola - especially in the busy summer season?

Question: What is this and why is it on the tower?

For someone who seems to know everything, a simple maintenance pulley stumps you?

How do you think they change the little circle thingies when the string is on them?

But why is it on the tower. Just looked at a video from years ago, and it was on the same tower.

Why isn't it on the other towers?

Well at least I'm good at something. There are lots of mediocre people in the world that don't care about anything and really don't know much at all.

And I am rather ditsy- according to my Myers Briggs and what people think of me in general.

    I wear it with pride.

This would be where a splice would be done, for new cables or to take out stretch. They could also drop the cable here to get more slack if a bull wheel repair needed to be done.

It's also the closest tower to the base.. so probably best for many reasons..

Would have never thought that's a good place for a cable splice - at the top of a big incline section.
The slack idea makes sense to me.
    Thanks.

I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Is that prop driven by the wind?

Maybe it caused cancer in the cable?

Clues may be found by looking at the broader issue of cables breaking in other industries.

    https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-...875-story.html

Pollock had overseen the cable’s replacement a little more than a month ago and inspected the crane nightly, according to fellow workers.

A spate of crane accidents six years ago, including one in San Francisco in which one plunged 19 stories and killed five people, raised the question then as to whether construction cranes were sufficiently inspected and regulated.
But was it a big, thick, healthy beautiful rope?

Goldmine of interesting engineering data. Also, on page 12 there is a course-seminar slides on lift safety and maintenance issues 'The Iceberg principle'.

By far the most interesting short video on splicing I've seen. All in german.
Even has a grinder clip to prove that sharks and lasers aren't always the best choice

Wait - why do you think this thing broke all by itself and wasn't deliberately cut like the police are saying again?

The biggest clue you're missing as to how this happened is that the RCMP have said it was intentional and there is a criminal investigation happening.
