    Soundtracks

Wow - really surprised to see there wasn't a thread dedicated to recommending soundtracks so I'm stating one with a soundtrack from an old movie - I Am Sam (2001).

I've had the CD forever but recently pulled it out and have really been enjoying it. I forgot how much I liked it. This soundtrack is all Beattles covers and there are some great performances: Eddie Vedder, Sheryl Crow, Ben Folds, The Vines, all with interesting interpretations of the original Beattles song. Never saw the movie but love the music.

"Two of Us", performed by Aimee Mann and Michael Penn
    "Blackbird", performed by Sarah McLachlan
"Across the Universe", performed by Rufus Wainwright
"I'm Looking Through You", performed by The Wallflowers
"You've Got to Hide Your Love Away", performed by Eddie Vedder
"Strawberry Fields Forever", performed by Ben Harper
"Mother Nature's Son", performed by Sheryl Crow
"Golden Slumbers", performed by Ben Folds
"I'm Only Sleeping", performed by The Vines
"Don't Let Me Down", performed by Stereophonics
"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", performed by The Black Crowes
    "Julia", performed by Chocolate Genius
"We Can Work It Out", performed by Heather Nova
    "Help!", performed by Howie Day
"Nowhere Man", performed by Paul Westerberg
    "Revolution", performed by Grandaddy
"Let It Be", performed by Nick Cave
When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

The Crow soundtrack is one of my favorite albums. I'd toss in the sound track from Queen of the Damned as well.

Pablo Picasso was never called an asshole.

Could sing that cd from end to end, mebbe even the Spanish.

I still ski regularly to the Soundtrack from Escape from LA:
    Stabbing Westward
    Tool
    White Zombie
    The Toadies
    B Surfers
    Sugar Ray
    Gravity Kills
    Ministry
    Orange 9mm
    Clutch
    CIV

Will listen to the Crow ST as half those bands are faves: Cure, Helmet, Rollins, STP, NIN, Pantera!, Rage, the JMC...

Love the Otis Redding track on there. I was unfamiliar with his earlier work before seeing that movie.
