I was told the alien RS is going to the wayside and that particular niche will now be filled by the updated f1...but this is just rumour from a dealer.

new marker duke binding with the removable toe piece for climbing, no plate anymore.
Requires a boot with fittings for touring though (shift-like)
    Aggressive in my own mind

Sounds like they're going to CAST their lot in to the convertible binding game

    146-108-129? Da fuck?
Whatever happened to 140-110-130. Little taper. Little rocker. Some camber. Not too stuff, but not to soft. No metal so not too heavy. True 185. Why is this so hard?
108 Dynastar sounds like it might come close tho.
    No longer stuck.

You could say it represents a shift in thinking.

Little bummed about the weight on the shift boots... essentially 1.7kg in most sizes. Seems heavy compared to the Atomic Hawx XTD.... but I guess that likely matches the shift binding pretty well in terms of intentions.

Yeah, the Mtn Lab, S/Lab Mtn... or whatever the fuck they're calling it is still in the catalog so I think they are trying to position this as a lighter option for the XT Free, Cochise, Strider, etc. Same with the Prime XTD

I really want to try that Dalbello Asolo. Curious to see how stiff the flex is. I recently carpet flexed an Air 130 and while it was soft off the top it ramped up to pretty fucking stiff. If it fit my foot at all I could definitely ski that thing.

I seem to remember that Federico of TLT5/Vulcan is now at Dalbello. Can anyone confirm/deny that? That Dalbello Asolo seems TLT like in some ways.

Not 2021, but I flexed a carbon fiber scarpa yesterday and it was like cement. No give at all.

Don't get this boot at all.

That's a shame about the Mountain Lab not changing shape. Terrible fit for most people. Also, the S/Pro last that they are using for the Shift boot is garbage too. Very wide midfoot and tight toe box.

Also, the carbon stiffener under the 2nd buckle makes large fit mods impossible as they crack and separate.

Didn't check on any of the other boots (e.g. s max), only looked at the new stuff. I'm with Golden on the Mtn Lab, not really shaped for the human foot. If the inside of that boot was shaped something like a Lange RX it would still be a killer, relevant boot.

Any word from Volkl on pow skis? Heard they might be bringing the Shiro back, but maybe with some tweaks, keep the perfect tail but taper the tips a bit? Like a 116-119mm wide Revolt 122?

Federico Sbrissa is now at Tecnica, but works primarily on hiking boots.

The pointy toe and narrow toe box are easy to fix, but the roomy ankle and heel is not.

Supposedly new colours but same boot.

I dig that Shift Pro green colour but definitely prefer the light blue Shift boot Stan Ray has been rocking...and bummer on the SPro fit.

MTN Lab replacement for the following season.

New metal series from Salomon as well to compete with Mantra, 102 is the widest, can’t remember other two.

QST 112 (freestyle) keeps getting pushed back, was supposed to be released around now but rep doesn’t know now when it’s coming.

One size is the 96. Can't remember if the next size down is a 90 or 92. Also an 88 that I skied on but I think that's going to be marketed as a women's ski. Great for east coast skiing, had a lot of fun on the hard pack a couple of weeks ago. First ski that felt as good as the old 92 mantras I loved to ski.

Since the new line is called the Stance one of my buddies has named the 102 the "Larry Craig" model.
