OK, here's the latest. Katana 108 with the same construction as the 102, evidently it's a killing machine in the finest tradition of the Katana. V-Werks Katana remains in the lineup
Will see if I can get picks today.

What’s up with companies crowding the 90-110 range with skis. Take Völkl for instance with their freeride line: Kanjo 84, Kendo 88, Kendo 92, M5 (96), M102, K108. Do we really need 4 skis spanning a 16mm range, all with similar construction and stories? It’s not just Völkl. Other companies are doing it too, but MDV might be the biggest offender. I’d be interested to hear the product line manager and sales director sell me on the necessity/value of each ski.

Maybe they think we need a volkl thread in here. Where people can agonize for days over the nuances of each ski and the intended application before saying: Oh I bought something that I wasn't even discussing here

If anyone knows what Mammut is planning for airbag packs next year, please let me know. Really I just care if the RAS 3.0 system is still going to be available next season, as I eventually want to buy a second airbag rather than swapping between my two packs.

any word if Look is coming with an answer to Shift/Duke?
Katana 108 sounds great if it comes in 190-something.
110 Hoji Free will be awesome for my wife!

Wouldn’t cast be a direct competitor to the shift/ duke?, granted its not directly from look, but the cast set up will likely lose a few gram by using the pivot 15 that is allegedly being released, not likely to lose much weight, maybe 50 grams per binding compared to the p18.

Not certain on the camber part. Hoping to get more info and pics today. Evidently Volkl is also adding the "Blaze" 106 with a $600 price point, and all I know is that it's supposed to be on the lighter weight end of the spectrum. Whether that means 50/50 class or touring weight, doh no.
Also, Dalbello appears to be coming out with a touring boot in the really light weight category. Sounds like they might be shooting for that 1,000 gram class. Strange since the Air 130 just came out in the 1,300 gram vicinity, and is pretty darn stiff in a carpet test.

OK, here's the latest, straight out of the catalog
Katana 108 dimensions 146-108-129. Come in 170, 177, 184, 191. Stated radius on the 184 R1-34m, R2-19m, R3-39m. Rocker profile looks to be similar to M5 and 102. No weight listed but apparently not a featherweight.
And the new "BLAZE" 106 dimensions 146-106-128. Come in 165, 172, 179, 186. Stated radius on the 186 R1-30m, R2-19m, R3-40m. Tip and tail rocker. 186 listed at 1,772 grams. There might be a pair of these showing up soon; will report if so.
New featherweight tour boot from Dalbello looks to have single buckle with dynema, ala Alien RS, and boa forefoot. No specs yet but it is definitely different than the Air 130
Had them on my feet but still don't know of anyone who has any turns on them

Well now with the Alien RS out (and how well it skis), it'll be interesting to see which direction the F1 goes. I'd guess slight weight reduction, with improved skiability, and slightly better walkability.
I'm still amazed it's one of the few BOA systems on ski boots I've heard that hasn't broken a bunch.TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

3 different pairs of cambered 108mm in the Volkl lineup (I assume the 100Eight is still there), talk about overlap !

There's an entire new line-up of Dynastar freeride skis. Saw pair of the 108 at my local hill, believe there will be a 100, 108 & 116. Both carbon & metal layups. I may have a pair shortly for maggots to demo.

Woody,
Keep us updated on the availability. Wife and I might try sneaking down to mission in the next week or two.
