Yeah, those lexus are great, and if the AHC system is still in good shape, it's super nice. Want to make sure that some soccer mom didn't put windshield washer fluid in the tank for it though, cause then the accumulators fail. Then you are lookin at replacing the ahc system with regular springs and shocks, as replacing all the accumulators and other system pieces is $$$$. When I had a lexus lx, I flushed and bled the whole system with fresh ahc fluid from toyota. Otherwise, they are just really nice cruisers with funky headlights.

Whatís a full AHC delete cost? Been looking for an 03-06 LC for way too long and am now thinking about an LX. Generally lower miles, better condition, and better records from Lexus, but concerned about AHC failure. And damn ugly wood grain interior. Thanks.

Depends. New? Who knows, who buys new shit? but you ought to be able to find shocks and springs (front torsion bars) for a LC for a reasonable amount (few hundred bucks max), as people are always jacking up their cruisers.
But, if the AHC works fine, change the fluid, and enjoy the super smooth ride and adjustable ride height. You can mod the switch so it stays in high mode. (not recommended to cruise around in low mode). The AHC rides fantastic when in low, and you can adjust firmness which is pretty sweet as well.

Doesnít need to be new. Just more reliable that what Iíve heard about AHC. Maybe it doesnít fail as much as I think though.

From a stock LC/LX Iím ideally looking for a 2.5Ē lift. If I can get near that with a reliable AHC that stays in high with mods, awesome. I hadnít heard the mod switch option.

My wife would disagree with you.

We had the Lexus for a bit, and it was so smooth, so nice, and the ahc was nice to help elderly in law visitors climb into the truck. But, yes... We sold it and have a Land cruiser with no ahc. I did kind of like it though.

I happened to catch this go across the block yesterday https://www.mecum.com/lots/DA0919-38...-land-cruiser/ and this https://www.mecum.com/lots/DA0919-38...-land-cruiser/ I was kind of surprised at how low the prices were considering how high they've been on Cruisers, Broncos, Jeeps etc. the last few years.

I have openings in late September and beyond for service work, engine conversions and restorations. Also we work on all 4wd vehicles - have done some really cool Jeep and Bronco builds in the past.

Love this thread - congrats LWS!

I had ‘71 FJ40 in high school, 88 FJ62 after college and then 97 80 series in 2000 which I still have. Can’t live without a L/C. Wife finally converted and can’t imagine getting rid of her 200 series.

Thank you! Iíve been very busy and have neglected this thread. I should probably post some pics on here.

I love Land Cruisers and couldnít imagine not owning at least 1...

I think an FJ40 will be the next one on the docket for me. Keep my 80 (which weíre doing an LS swap on) and then have a stock 40 with maybe a few tasteful things done.

Weíve had a lot of support from the maggot collective and I thank everyone for helping me make this venture head in the right direction.

Iím booked through October but have openings in November and December if any mags need work done. We do everything from lift kits to paint and body... in addition to engine conversions and restorations. Obviously cruisers are our jam but Iíll build or work on anything cool.

I would like to do that. Have a 6.0 liter Vortec V8 and a 4L80e to put in my 80 series. Just installed brand new SLEE Bypass shocks and springs, now need to get the motor ready to swap. We're doing an LS swap on another 80, so thinking about doing them at the same time.
