I don't know why, but I've always liked the 60 series...

FJ45s never been in the ski bum budget range. At least I can sort of imagine getting my hands on an old pickup...that’s at least potentially realistic. FJ45 not so much.

Aren’t those solid front axle Toyota pickups (or 4runners) a hot commodity/futures thing?

Yes because one that hasn’t been hacked to shit and wheeled hard is becoming increasingly difficult

Solid axle swap is a fairly common mod to the 89-94 pickups.

Yup that’s the other problem, the OG minitrucks were often scavenged for parts to put on newer body styles

Have had a long-lasting love affair for old Toyotas though I've never owned one. Have looked at a few budget cruisers over the years with the wife but never one that got me to pull the trigger.

Good luck with this endeavor man, if I'm ever in the area I'll be sure to drop you a line.

This is my view out the office window. I look at Land Cruisers parked out front and the ridge above is Schweitzer Ski Area, actually have a view of the runs from most other areas of the building. Pretty sweet.

I know most TGR mags love stickers.

    We've got some: https://www.thelandcruisershop.com/shop/sticker-pack/

Use the code magsneedstickers for $2.50 off - so just $2.50 total for 2 very high quality vinyl Land Cruiser shop stickers mailed to your door. That's my cost on the stickers with an envelope and postage factored in! Help me get the word out!

Thanks for the info. With any luck maybe I'll be able to take you up on that inspection some day. For now, I can't in good conscience own one of these without being able to house it in a garage.

That fuel injection kit should be a winner - one of the only major downsides between the 60 and the 62.

Congrats on the move and the view! I'm sure it's keeping you busy, but if you're looking to get out on the mountain bike when the smoke clears shoot me a PM.

Woody — do you know a good source for replacement rear fender flares on an 80? Kid messed up both of them, don’t ask. Had one replaced a long time ago, but don’t have that info anymore. Many thanks.

Yeah what color is your truck and do you want them to match? Or do you want the panel of shame for future reminders?

Woody—thanks. Idiot daughter backed into brush and both ripped off. About 10 or 15 years ago I remember having one replaced for pretty cheap at a local hole in the wall body shop, think it was primed and they painted. Looking to just do something reasonable cost to work until I make the sell or restore decision in about 3 years. Could probably get locals to install , seems like they go on easy. Awesome stuff.

When I get some money to burn I’d like to get my 08 J120 GX “de-sparkled”; replace the chrome trim with black, replace the L with a T, etc... but really I should yank out the airbags, 2” lift, wheels, tires...
