2015. After 40 years in the desert and the team’s fans being in the top 10 in attendance year after year of having one of the shittiest franchises in all of sports.

And to BMill’s point - 2016. Cuz Cleveland hadn’t won shit.

Every team every year gets some kinda lucky.

Just tip the cap - to the team - for winning under whatever circumstances they faced and move on to next year.

But, yeah, Lakers fans can get insufferable. So, fuck those entitled punks...

    ^^ All of this.

And yeah, of course it counts. They were only a few games shy of a full season.

Instagram models, dude. That's what we're calling them. And yeah, I'm pretty suspicious. We need to get details on the one that gave Jimmy Butler his mojo.

jee... so much Laker hate... 'beat LA' my ass, cry me a river. Your teams lost. Lakes won. Get over it...

I had to deal with watching Rondo in gold-and-purple and I got over it.

So you're saying you're now cheering for the Warriors with their drafted team core? ;-)

Nothing like a Lakers championship to make us the good guys again. Haha.

I wouldn't exactly say "the good guys". But all other things being equal, the Lakers will always get more hate.

He’s not on our team anymore. I’m talking about next season. Steph, Klay, Draymond... all drafted. That’s my point.

KD n Kyrie can trade off being Nets coaches with Steve Nash. KD is his feelings all the time, but I hope he’s healthy.

    Haters gonna hate...
Sports are funny this way. But they taught me couple of lessons about how artificial the pro-sport soap opera is.

First example is when I had to deal with my hate when Malone signed with LA to get that ring. Dog it was hard to root for him but he was on the team now! Too bad The Mailman failed to deliver any way...

Then Popovic: blind “hate” turned into complete respect when he showed how to keep a steady team solid while Lakers went through a shit show of bickering in the locker room and incompetence in the front office.

rant over.. go back to crying in your pillow and silly hating...

    fuck Celtics btw

As a Pistons fan living in SLC that was one of my favorite seasons ever. I’d hated Malone for years from the stitches on Isiah’s head, watching the Pistons take down the star studded Lakers was delicious. Karl Malone losing was even better. It was almost as good as them fighting through Jordan and the Bulls and sweeping the Lakers in 1989.

I was at that game that malone elbowed Thomas to the dome. It was literally the first or second play of the game. I was just a kid but I remember that because my parents decided to talk to me about it because that was so targeted. That was some basketball back then haha I still don't like isiah thomas. John Stockton was a much better PG.

I think the biggest difference between back then and today is the players are much better business men and understand their worth and value so much more. The NBA (for good reason) has given the players the most power of any major league sports leagues with the exception of soccer and you see that respect between ownership and the players and the negotiations that take place.

The NBA is completely different than it was in the 90s. Players had no power or voice then. NBA players have all the power now and I think that's a good thing overall.

The bubble demonstrated that the nba has one of the best sports entertainment products out there IMO. I honestly loved all the bubble basketball and thought it was one of the best things about the pandemic so far
