Marmot Alpinist Jacket, size Large - $225: 3 layer goretex pro. Super waterproof without being loud. By far my favorite part of this jacket is the pockets. They're perfectly placed for easy access (even with a pack on) and are a good size too. Fits true to size, 40"-42" chest.

Armada Crest 3L Pant, size Medium - $125: 3 layer goretex pants. Trim fit but completely free movement. Articulated knees. C-knit interior. These pants are awesome but just a little too short for me. Light weight and verrrry water proof. Also quiet. Maximum I ever wore under these pants were medium-weight Patagonia capilene base layer. Fits true to size, 32"-34" waist.
