A new pizza taproom recently opened in town with a self-serve beer via wristband arrangement. "The best part is, customers are cut off at 32 ounces, which is in compliance with the driving limit,” explained the owner in the local paper.

They automated the bartender and covered any liability from over-serving, but the statement that 32 ounces is in compliance with the driving limit is awfully misleading. 2 pints for me equals ability impaired and close to DUI.

True story- We were friends back in the day with a couple that was just constantly drunk. Literally every time we saw them, they were fucked up to some degree....And the husband drove ALL THE FUCKING TIME....I tried talking to him multiple times about it, how I’d seen WAY too many fucked up car wrecks because of booze, but he just didn’t care. Fast forward a few years, and I ran into his wife, who proceeded to tell me they had been sober for thirteen months. I ask why, and she tells me they were driving to the bars a year and a half ago, and some drunk homeless dude stepped off the sidewalk right in front of them and they hit and killed him. Cops kept them on scene for hours, and if hubby had been drinking he’d of been fucked..... Fickle hand of fate, for sure. Drunk driving sucks.

With Robert Conrad's passing I saw some fairly recent pics of him and he looked bad. Like Kirk Douglas at 103 bad but he was 20 years younger than Kirk. I wondered why and found that in 2005 he headoned a car while driving and blew a .20 after. It fucked him up pretty bad, paralysis on his right side and cognitive stuff, and probably more. I never knew that. first search result: https://siouxcityjournal.com/enterta...011ea0b5b.html

Aside from enjoying long running TRG jokes, maybe it’s the kinship I feel from my days skiing at HV, maybe it’s the shared misery of 300 cloudy days a year from a part of my youth.

Or maybe it’s the same way you can’t look away from a car fire that was set by a guy who’s blackout drunk and pissed off on a Tuesday at 3 pm because that’s just how it is.

And because he couldn’t well punch that stupid car.

    Eh probably not.

March 2013, Indian Lake NY, drunk guy on snow machine drifted into path of opposite travel and killed himself and the sober guy he hit. I believe both had family members present on separate machines. You can only imagine how that ended up going down in a small poor town.

^ I think ice was kidding. The shear amount of exhaust fumes coming off a 550 cc Rotax that are inhaled, coupled with 12 packs of Busch has a multiplier effect on your BAC.

He may be kidding, but I always operate under the assumption here that we are all completely serious in just about every post.

That said, I didn’t know snow machines smoked like a $37 hooker riding a stand up Kawasaki jet ski.
