    Help a mag out

Folks who have clicked on the Oregon thread have heard, but this deserves its own thread.

Our friend Tap lost his home to a fire.

Please consider helping out with a gift at whatever denomination you are able.

If you are in Bend, there is an event Aug 1 to show some love.

Tap is a stand up mag. A few years back when my family was passing through Bend he was most hospitable. Gave me lots of great info and then shuttled the wife and I, and our bikes, a ways out of town so we could do a big ride.

Even if all you have to give feels like a drop in the bucket, it's something.

Thanks Mags. It’s been pretty damn horrific. At times I think I’be got the Zen part down and am past the challenge stage and ready to move on, but fuck, then it hits me how much we lost, how displaced we are, how much work there is and what a long unfun journey it’s going to be to get back to normality.

I am grateful my family is still intact and try to avoid dwelling on it too much. It’s just tough. Imagine the mountain of work of trying to rebuild everything you ever owned...and all the things you simply can never replace. Sure we dragged a lot of unnecessary crap around, but so many keepsakes, photos, mementos...all I can say is take a moment to digitize or photograph those physical things because shit happens. Impermanence is real. And scary.

Your words of encouragement give me more strength than you might realize when I’m feeling less than strong.

    Thank you Mags.

Awful. My deepest condolences to Tap and his family. So glad you are all alright.

So sorry to hear this Tap. Thoughts go out to you and the fam buddy. I'll always remember you and your wife's kindness and generosity when some random Canuck showed up at your door. So glad you guys weren't hurt. Take care.
