I’m sure Covid has messed up all production though.

Everybody's gotta have parkas. I'm talking custom parkas. Two words: "client development." They see all of you out there cutting the powder in your matching Schweikart & Cokely parkas, you'll make an impression. You will thank me later.

Agree; it completely went into the toilet for season 2. Couldn’t finish it.

it might have gotten too nostalgic in season 2 but so far season 3 has taken the fuck off right outta the gate.
...with some some more nostalgia but lots of action.

Haven't watched any of this but have seen a couple snippet previews and have to ask, didn't Data get blowd up at the end of Nemesis?

Started this since I'm paying for paramount+ right now. Rick and Morty meets Star Trek. I like it.

For those watching season 3, can I skip season 2 in its entireity, or is there a decent recap that would get me up to speed? I watched season 1 and it was meh, but the season 3 hype sounds real.

Season 2 is very meh. It's totally unrelated to three and you know the one character that's not from tng or voyager already. Skip that crap and get ridof picards annoyibg Crewfrom season 1.

The time gap is a bit bigger, but that's it. You get used to everyone in their new Positions within the first 10min.

And yeah season 3 is some of the best trek I've seen in my life. Miles ahead of any recent Star trek.

Yeah skip 2, it was total garbage. I lost interest, abandoned it, and came back to it while awaiting for S3 episodes to release week to week, and it still felt like drudgery.

3 has been alright, but some serious fan service in this Vox episode, I’ll hold off on saying further for now.

Fan Service is ok if it still feels like a Star trek series and not as a means to an end.

And season 3 has been real Star trek as far as I remember tng ds9 and voyager, but I've never been a hardcore trekki. ( well I had a Uniform in grades 11 to 13 as a carnival costume......)

How is there only 1 episode left? Has been an awesome season, agree with others that 1 & 2 are meh.

If you've been on the sidelines for this whole thing so far, could you skip S1&S2 completely?

Picard S1 was ok, I enjoyed it. S2 was horrendous and skippable. S3 has made up for it.

It's good but I think it's relying heavily on TNG nostalgia. The story is creative and entertaining but it's bringing in so many old elements that it's more like a master DJ playing a set that can't lose.

Disagree on recent Trek being miles behind. I have enjoyed Disco and SNW despite what seems like an above-average effort to inject wokening. The Disco S3/4 have some cool imaginative stuff. And as much as I like Michelle Yeoh I do not like her in Star Trek.

Strange new world is excluded. I've only seen a few episodes but it seems really good.

By recent I meant discovery and all the series I haven't watched like enterprise ( I think? I don'tkniw whst else was there in the late 200s and 2010s).
Discovery is bad on somany levels. I don't know where to start.
And diverse is not a problem see expanse.

No it's not a problem. But I think execution matters. Star Trek has some strange execution.

The Expanse ranks #1 for me on sci-fi series, all time.

    So? Thoughts on the conclusion?

Kinda campy, but the final game was a nice touch.

Season 3 last 3 episodes was pretty good

The new nemesis ? Don’t really like it. No limits on form or time. To hokey

    Liked the entire season.
The last episode was kinda cheesy but it hit so many sweat spots for fans IMO.
Would watch a bonus episode of them playing strip poker with 7of9. She still stirs my manhood.
