I thought the whole point of cruises was to drink like a fish 24/7, get to check out some cool destinations, and not have to drive drunk or be the adult responsible for logistics or other responsible shit. It's like a field trip but for grownups instead of little kids. And, if you drink and don't get the package deal you've gotta be crazy. If you don't drink, then you picked the wrong type of vacation..
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

How drunk were you when you wrote this?
The only way I’d want to go on a cruise would be (have been) with a new girlfriend. I think it could be fun at that stage where getting drunk and staying in bed most of the day sounds fun. But then that is a weird trip to plan. Hey, we just started banging but want to go away for a week together?

I didn't pick this "vacation". I don't drink hardly like I used to. I could get drunk but then the next day is ruined. What's the fun in that?
Cruises are billed as more economical over resorts. They are 100% not when extras are added in. Wanna eat at any of the restaurants? $$$$ little ice cream??? $$$$$ fucking nickel and dime. Jack daniels straight up? $6 not bad. Add ginger ale? It's now $12. Wtf? It's literally 3oz of soda. Fuck cruises.

Only cruise I liked was a med cruise. Did one when the kids were younger and they liked running around and making friends. My son got beat up in the hot tub one night though and I after I won about 3000 playing blackjack they banned me from the casino the rest of the week for my “play”.

Take cruises that get you places virtually unreachable otherwise. Sitka to Vancouver inside passage on a smaller ship that gets closer to the glaciers, Galapagos island to island, tierra del fuego, Antarctica, scuba live aboard... Of course these are less than cheap and more adventurous than an all inclusive beach hotel.
If you choose a 5000 passenger behemoth, you get what you signed up for: drinking and crowds. If you have young kids, pick a cruise line that is geared for them. Plan ahead... The point of a well chosen carribean cruise is to sleep while the ship takes you to a new place each day. It takes a lot of preparation to plan your own shore activities ahead of time so you are not stuck with 100 other pax on an overpriced excursions.Originally Posted by blurred

Royal Caribbean/cruise rant
Vibes dude. That sounds awful. You got this. I refuse to go on a cruise for all of those reasons. I can’t relate to any of the weirdos that can tolerate them or think they sound fun to begin with.

Yeah I was right all along about these floating crapshows, but now the dolts that tell me they're great I know to keep further away from. Unfortunately FIL loves em.
