Any elegant ideas for buckle relocation on tlt6?

I don’t need my instep crushed, i need heel hold. I know a splitboard company had a kit to move the front buckle to the cuff pivot in the style of Scarpa boots. I can’t find it anymore. I’m looking for ideas, anybody done this?

    I find heel hold overrated.

Most of the time, or always, i keep pressure on my heel, and ball of foot, simultaneously, and my heel never lifts.. even though my liners are kind of sloppy.

In Tecnica zero g guide pro.

I moved the instep buckle, to add it to the cuff hinge point. Worked well for me

no pics, sorry sold the boots a few years ago
    remove instep buckle.
Use a race boot, screw together, cuff screw to replace the stock one.
Drill the buckle hole wider to go thru that cuff bolt (if needed)
use some medium loc tight on the bolt, once you are happy with the buckle tension/placement.

Phantom Splitboard was the company that made the buckles. Don’t see them. On website anymore. Might be worth an email.

I tried on an older Pdg boot that had the buckle closer to the shin and it felt much better. Easy mod- just move buckle up, no messing with ankle rivets.

Or maybe try to order Vulcan/Mercury buckles?

Thanks mntlion! I’ll start looking for those pivots.
Is anyone else a bit surprised swissphic hasn’t rolled through with something revolutionary yet?

The shells are pretty used up, perhaps it’s worth the experiment of moving the buckle without going all the way to the cuff pivot, as you say turnfarmer. Will ponder!

lol, well, i'm actually in the process of tryin' to figure out how to emulate this concept for an instep/forefoot pressure plate. Just wanna see if equally distributed true vertical pressure bests a trad buckle that has more of a circumferential pressure application.

The original Nordica Comp 3, an early 3 piece design had the tongue under the shell like the current Salomon QST boot.
Personally I think that’s the way forward and my next frankenboot.
