Wrist brace / TFCC tear?
Had my biggest wreck of the year about 10-14 days ago while training at Big Sky. Classic in the zone, finding the edge, two wheel drift kinda speed and bam. Full mega yardsale. Rocks inside my helmet kinda rag doll. Besides being bruised up I have felt mostly fine despite a nagging pain in the outside of my right wrist.
Riding is fine for the most part. Push-up/downward dog = no effing way. Woke up from a deep sleep at least 3 times last night to just massive wrist pain. Probably aggravated it racing over the weekend. Fuck it. Had the ortho take a look today. Possible TFCC tear. Follow up with hand guy in two weeks.
Said I can ride/race in a brace. Lot of options out there. The Allsport Dynamics worth the money? Anyone got one they aren't using?

Just folded my hand on Sunday racing, so am interested in hearing people's experiences with braces too. Friends have used the TLD and 661 products, but they seem bulky and meh.
Anyone have any experience with Mobius? https://www.mobiusbraces.com/store/x...ze=mediumlarge

I haven't had a chance to ride with it yet. Have just worn it around the house. Feels pretty good, but wish I could try to allsport. Probably would have gone allsport if it had prime shipping on amazon. Will hopefully try this tomorrow and if its not great I will return to amazon.

Right on. Turns out my wrist is fine, have what I think is bone bruise in hand, so needs bit more time to trust full grip on the bars. Riding the hardtail last night on relatively tame trails told me all I needed to know.

Bumping this up. Back in July my follow-up MRI showed partial TFCC tear. That looked to not need surgery. Now I have had good insurance my whole life until last year. At the time of my ortho visits last year and currently I have pretty much hood rat not bottom of the barrel cheapest/worst BCBS insurance. So they sent me home and basically said good luck. No PT or anything. Fast forward 10 months and my wrist isn't better. Probably shoveling hundreds of tons of snow this winter didn't help. Lots of pain at night. Wearing the mobius brace during the day and sleeping in a harder wrap around brace. It's almost like it has reverted back to wear it was July 2019 a week or so after the injury.
My only real option is to go back to the ortho? Home PT exercises? Get non shitty insurance?
EDIT: Eh fuck. Thought this post was in Gimp Central. My bad.Last edited by Whiteroom_Guardian; 04-16-2020 at 10:07 AM.

Best brace for TFCC is the Wrist Widget. Search it on Amazon. I have a tear from golf and it works great. Will be able to get you back to weight bearing through the wrist. It's also cheap and non obtrusive which is great.
I am a PT. Exercises can help and so can joint mobilizations. If you go the PT route it really helps to find a good hand specialist.
