Agreed, this is a great read. Appreciate the effort (on the bike and putting this together).

Fuck yeah! I'm a lazy mtb'er and love this thread.

Also pretty amazed to see the wop chop get an honorable mention. That place is pretty legendary.

So after riding 93 miles you slept for 3 hours??? How do you recharge in that amount of time?

I've read all of these...at work. The MT part is fun because I have been to many of the places but via slightly different routes...generally paved, and generally in a comfortable seat holding a steering wheel.

Looking forward to the next part.

You really don't. It's kinda like eating on the Divide, you're always at a caloric deficit no matter how much you cram in your face. Those sleeps were incredibly deep sleeps though. I probably averaged 4-5 hours a night overall. After a few days your body adapts a bit and knows to get going, it's strange.

Strong work! Like RootSkier, living in Montana makes these sections a most interesting read. Thanks for documenting the adventure and sharing it with us!

PM me when you pass through the Silverthorne/Dillon, CO area and I'll hook ya up with a beer and some lunch or dinner. We get a fair amount of Tour Divide riders this time of year.

I wrapped up my ride way back on July 3rd, still playing catch up on the blog. Thanks for the offer, I could've used a beer the night I rolled into Silverthorne.

Gotcha, thought it was live posting. Looked and saw that most riders had finished after posting. Either way, nice work on the ride.
