Sounds like a miracle no one was killed.

Such an amateur.
I googled him and he is a s/w engineer at YouTube. Or, I should say “was.”

Dumb people giving good drugs a bad name. There's a story in Michael Pollan's latest book about a doctor who saw a lot of people who ended up in the hospital having freakouts in the 60s and 70s. He said he'd look them over closely, then say, "I'll be back in a few minutes, I have to help another patient who has a serious problem." They were usually fine after that.

What a bummer.
Set and setting?
I remember when a similar incident happened in eastern san diego county in the 90's, except several people were killed. All of them were experience trippers and close friends. They were friends of a friend.
I've had several tripping buddies that had pretty rough goes on an occasion. They made it through without problems in the end.
I've also had two old roommates, seasoned trippers, that had great experiences but never came back after one of them. one was diagnosed with schizophrenia and the other with manic depression. Arguably, in hindsight, they were predisposed. We have no idea what happened with the first one. I hope she's ok.
Of course, as an active parents of several kids, i think about how to talk to the kids about it in a positive and helpful way, and I think about how I'm going to make the stars align to have the chance for another trip.

Maybe sometimes then you don't,
But leave your mind alone and just get high."

Yeah I also had two friends never come back, latent schizophrenia in both of them, but in both cases it took a bunch of times dropping before the changes really kicked in so that it was obvious something was really wrong.

The one that I (and all my friends) lost track of, it took a fair bit of time, too, for her issues to kick in. It was a slow roll.
The other, she felt like she never came down after her last trip. She was pretty “normal” before that last time. It took her very understanding (former acid-heads) and well-healed parents to get her some solid help.

I did so much of that stuff as a kid, now that I am pretty much retired, I think I am about ready again. Keys to success; no worries, large play list on an awesome stereo, a shit ton of weed and a nice safe space to trip. Great view of the outdoors is a big plus. I would like to start out slow, any mescaline around?

I ate a half a hit of paper last week for Phish at SPAC, it was a blast! Had no fear all night. Will do again soon.
