BBIEuro 19-20! or fuck it, lets go to Rueras?
It's hot out. I'm drinking rose and putting summer wax on some skis.
All I can think about is a week spent midwinter at Mountain Lodge Sedrun. With a few days of touring.
I appreciate others want to explore.
But last year made me an old man happy to settle into habits. As long as those habits are big breakfasts, crazy terrain, apres on the patio, and dinner in the back room watching the finest ski flick of all time. And most importantly -- Vendul and his better half.
I'm bringing real skis this time and not just touring gear.

I dream of being back on the Gemstock constantly.
Piz Mahler will go down this time.
Can’t wait to see our very gracious hosts again.
Bringing two pairs of skis next time, one bigger moar burly.
Fun to ski with all the cool peeps again!Last edited by 2FUNKY; 06-27-2019 at 10:09 AM.

I'm up for a return to Rueras too. Will probably tag something else on before or after again. Maybe Klosters again. Cover Festival anyone? This was the weekend after Ann and I were there this year and looked like it would be fun.

I am not a super active poster, but would definitely meet up for lift-served in the Alps next season!

Yeah buddy, I’m planning on it. No way I can pull off a 2 weeker this go round, but I should be good for a week.
As far as I know Toby has no account, but by the time we got home I’m pretty sure he had no plans to even look at his skis for 6 months. He should be recovered by fall though.

Klosters-<>Rueras<->La Grave is the current outline for me, late March.
Note that there are trains leaving late afternoon from Andermatt that get within an hour of LG same day. You liked Am@, you'll flip over LG. I've got this wired.
Would love to hit St. Moritz and Bivio en route.
Let Ullr smile on the Alps again next winter. Have a good summer, k00ks.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

https://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html .
Plug in Andermatt to Oulx-Cesana-Claviere at 14:00 for July 11 (the schedules don't change much into winter).
I get hits:
Leave Am@ 14:50, arrive Oulx 21:30
Leave Am@ 15:50, arrive Oulx 23:27.
There's a couple of hotels across the street from the Oulx train station that are cheap. Crash there and get a taxi to LG in the morning. If travelling really light, one can ski across the Milky Way, Oulx->Cesana->Claviere->Montgenevre (FR) and then taxi from there. I've got a good rec on a hotel in LG too for like 60 Euro/night half board.

I'm in but suggest to move it earlier next year to avoid the spring crust. Was a good time regardless. I'll plan at least a full week next time, if not two.

Maybe we just got lucky on the weather but I skied pow all seven days I was there. Even the last Friday I was there we were skiing pow on north aspects and corn on the south aspects. I thought the conditions were perfect. Not so much pow as the Avi danger kept us off the steep terrain yet enough to load areas with knee deep pow. Hell our big pow day we were skiing mid thigh pow. Thankfully it stabilized quickly.

FWIW, of the 4 times I've passed through Andermatt, that interval (March 18-23) was the first time I didn't get stormed out for at least a day. Every time I've been there, it has snowed, often too much.
What date are you suggesting Ripz?
venduls place, https://www.mt-lodge.com/ , is super sweet at any time, right? It's gonna be even better with the new tram out of Sedrun to access Disentis.Last edited by Buster Highmen; 07-01-2019 at 12:22 PM.
