Seems like a pretty shitty thing to say about someone’s spouse

    Agree.

WTF riser ? Bob is a good dude and a smokeshack buddy of mine. That was way below the belt, especially in a thread full of kid pics, spouse pics, dog pics. This thread rocks, until you shit it up.

Glad your grom is having so much fun - he's a great kid.

Thanks for the killer stoke, and ignore the dumbass comments. Bob has an awesome family.

Those cinnamon rolls were smashrolls, tube style on a lightly oiled griddle. Smashed em flat and flipped em once, iced them after they were browned. Damn tasty, easy addition to the breakfast rotation.

Got the oldest boy out to our property, he brought two friends and they all caught fish after getting skunked at the places they go. Everyone enjoyed floating, the pic of the youngest is him standing on the tube he floated three hours on. His fingers are pruned but couldn’t get him out of the water. He’s training to whippy stick standing on the cooler. (Fly fishing set ups are on the Christmas list.)

My wife has lost about 60 pounds in the last year, pretty proud of her. Although rather tasteless, his comment didn’t bother me.

Overnight float along a not so secret river. Water was hot chocolate so we let the fish rest and just enjoyed the sights. 11 miles of river starting at 4pm meant camp sites were spoken for, so we made due with a bare patch of bank. Besides the damn stoneflies all up in my mouth and ears all night, it was pretty great.

    Nice!!

Buddy and I went to fight crowds Saturday close by. Water looked good but there were just a few willing slashers and no real hookups. Snuck into an old dispersed spot walking down a decommissioned road way after dark. No epic views lol but it was good star gazing.

5 days out: Is it a shitty move for an individual camper to reserve an unreserved group campsite at a very small campground (4 individual campsites; 3 group sites) when all individual sites are reserved? TIA

    Nope.

My opinion is for large groups those would of likely been planned and booked in advance of 5 days.

Otherwise, the big beautiful campsite would go unused or more likely some other person / small group would book it if you don’t.

Eff no, you’re paying the group fee. Do it. That’s meant to keep groups out of indie sites not the other way around. I’m not gonna go because a group might want to? Nah. I might not go because the group permit costs more but if I pay? More money, less people? Winning.

Caught a last minute cancellation at Holland Lake campground over Labor Day. Forgot how beautiful this place is. Last family camping trip before the eldest daughter heads off to college.
