Not every day you have the ramp to yourself to rig. Also not every day you get to row yourself, your lady, and your buddy's lady down the MFS because he couldn't make the trip. A great seven days of sleeping under the stars.

Wrapped boat. I set up a quick rescue with upstream/downstream safety and a z-drag and had him back in the current in 15 minutes.

My boat is always rigged on the trailer so my group lets me go first to get out of the way and then help others or work on dinner or whatever. Low water but still some groups launching from Boundary. I think after us, there was another private group and a couple of outfitters deadheading. Things picked up after Indian but still not too many groups. You could roll your permit to next year due to Covid so river numbers are down quite a bit. Going to be tougher to land one next year. I have no official number but from the people I've talked to, I'm guessing a quarter of permits were rolled.

Lumpy pulled a mid aug permit on his 1st entry this year
i bailed cause 2 weeks on the road in early aug with no real itinerary other than the luau seemed easier than the mf ligistics
he canceled before they announced the roll over option
i told him to see if they would consider rolling his
if he can roll not only are we inviting you

Would love to, but Mrs. Schindler is working, and I need to stick around while the new bath is worked on. This reminds me to mention that I have a lot of bath hardware (including a sexy glass shower barn door) that I would like to find good homes for in the near future.

Dang tough act to follow those sfb pics but oh well keep er rolling . Shoot I have been cooped the eff up and broke as a joke. There was an open campground with a closed road and so I “hiked” I dunno 300 yards. Place was Empty right off that well known highway.








Good to get out!! Netted a brown and hooked a couple more right down there.

Two weekends ago my dad, my son and I camped out at a yurt in western Quebec (despite a border closure). Boat access into a gorgeous and relatively unpopulated lake.

Being early, the lake trout were shallow. My 11 year old caught a 24" trout, it was added to our paella. My dad teaching my youngest to filet a fish was a pretty special moment.

Nailed it. Over that crest is SEKI (Sequoia/Kings Canyon) and no dogs. But this side, it's a go.

I figured, I’m amazed that parts of the Cascades and it’s ranges east of the crest can remind me of the Sierra.
