you float into another camp
and shit both figuratively and literally gets unloaded
"when the child was a child"
nap time never hurts
daylight wanes and activities of night commence
daylight comes again and the cycle continues
there are signs of the season
casts of piscatorial pursuits to be made
success
failures
there are life skills of river propulsion to be learnt
miles float by you leave a canyon
and float to another take out

Wanted to revive this thread. With state and national parks opening only on limited access basis, I think that this will be the summer of primitive camping. This is a blessing. Time to discover the rural mountain and desert west. Targhee NF, Great Basin, Glen Canyon, The Staircase.
Take pics., and post them here
Also, I am looking on beta for Lee's Ferry camping. Thinking of going before the end of May“How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world? I don’t know, go ask Rory Gallagher”. — Jimi Hendrix

+1. Had a great weekend camping in the Highwood Mountains, an island range in central Montana. Beautiful country if you can co-exist with a few motos. Can't wait to get back here with my mountain bike--there are some great loop trails that look awesome for biking. Really nice peaceful campground at Thain Creek with sites open on Memorial Day weekend, can't beat that. Harder to get the teenagers out camping these days but they always have fun and are great hikers.

This pic needs to be expanded, so that we can see the 12 gauge resting on the rack behind her head.

First camping trip of the year, usually much earlier than this. Took a jaunt over to the Gorge with my two boys.
Other people on the way weren’t so fortunate.
Got settled in on a nice beach camping spot, decided against the full on siege style camping and left the 5th wheel at home, tents it was.
Took the new dog, was woken to growling at 5am, she’d never seen an antelope. Much fretting.
Breakfast beachside.
Socially distanced gummie score was arranged.
Youngest had fun making dog cairns every time new dog fell asleep.
Fishing was tough, but oldest had fun floating.
The pic uploader still sucks.
