On the former, IDK, we could pay them their current rates and it would still be money well spent. Dental insurance premiums at group rates are really cheap. On the latter, yeah, that's a challenge to put it mildly.

Any idea how many admin staff he has to handle his billing? I know my MD BIL’s office is full of folks that do nothing but track down payments from insurers. Those costs have to be built into the fees charged for medical care as a result.

We get dinged like a MFer for ER visits, while doc in a box and PCP are comparatively dirt cheap.

Through this I learned that my PCP is a fucking wizard with stitches. He’s also way less hesitant to dole out some drool pills than the ER. Better conversation and cleaner digs, too. The wait is probably the same and they don’t want a bloody mess scaring other patients so you get a room right now.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

buddy just worked in the hospitol had no staff & no office costs just bill direct

Like I said and it may be hard to fathom the Communist system, it is single payer NO insurance NO copay, the MD'S make the decisions as to what the patent needs do the work & submit the bills directly to the gov

It looks like the insurance companies cost the American HC system a bunch

i had never heard of a copay until seeing it discussed on ttips

A commie doctor can bill the system direct for a service in 5-10 seconds on average.

It’s tied to the documentation - type up a note and at the end type in a few codes and press enter.

Some have their admin staff do it - but I’d venture none have a full time dedicated staff for that - maybe in a group or clinic with multiple doctors. But even then probably not full time.

5-10 seconds per patient. Press enter. Bill submitted. Then paid back direct deposit.
