Not to get too pedantic just that I think it's some of the best modern music ever made. Also a lot of really good reggae in that period. Love me some 80s and 90s as well but the original stuff from the late 60s was dope.

    Current music is overwhelmingly horseshit.

i started to come of age in the late 70s and I agree. those were fun times, I was a baby, but fun fucking times

a defining moment was a lude party in 82 as a freshman on some roof of a dilapidated apartment building. funny and weird and mildly surreal. it was a shit ton of fun
Love Pete Seger's politics and wit. His music was a creative way to express both. Great guy. I met him once before I was old enough to remember and again when I was a teenager. He's a Jello Biafra from a different generation. I had mix tapes with both.

I was at a Phil Collins concert circa 1997 maybe (free for me) . I had a cheap $50 recording Walkman with a microphone the size of aaa battery. Phil sent two of his goons to confiscate my tape and recorder. I gave them the tape but not the recorder. What a self important twat Phil is. Like any one would want a bootleg of him.

That ship sure has sailed. Now every cunt with an iPhone at a concert holds it up over their head and live streams half the show.

He wrote all that sarcastically? That's a lot of effort for little return, IMO. Then again... there's no accounting for taste, amirite?
