I switched over for that trip because I spent three and half weeks in Euroland. My nieces, and coworkers understand commie units better than freedom units. Plus my daughter goes to school in Fredericton so she converted so she can figure out how many layers she needs to get between buildings without losing digits

Just dawned at me that a visit to the catacombs would be appropriate. Deep underground, always cool.

I went there in November, when there's no lines for anything. Early Sunday morning, too. Very cool creepy.

Ah, yeah, you're right. Most recent review on TripAdvisor, just a few days ago: "Having a free day in Paris, I visited the catacombs on impulse. I arrived just before the place opened at 10 am and the line snaked around the Block. It took two hours to get to the entrance. Entrance is 13 Euro for an adult." But, he did say it was worth it.
So, maybe get there at 9, still cool outside.

I agree, worth it- so cool- just be prepped for the queue
I was there in March
the thing I really didn't care to wait in line for was to go to the top of the eiffel tower
I loved seeing the eiffel and reading about it's construction etc (a good book with chapter on eiffel construction- Rust: the longest war) but really had no desire to go up thereskid luxury

It's a pretty flat city. Not a whole lot to see up there.
Did it at night, a little toasted, the lights made it really entertaining.

for the catacombs, you can reserve an entry online for a few euros more. I did this with the kids in April, and we only waited in the reserved line for 20 min.

I think its best to check online into a reservation for a lot of things in Yurp, i reserved ahead for the Gaudi Cathedral otherwise i don't think you could just walk up and get in
BTW those "free" walking tours are always pretty good, you book them online, show up if you like the tour give the guide ( usually a grad student working his way thru school ) 5 or 10 euroLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

Last time I was there we bought a multi day/multi attraction Paris pass that got us past a lot of lines, and it wasn't expensive.

Head over to Walmart and grab a few sleeveless shirts like these to wear.
If the catacombs are too crowded, perhaps pop over to Jim Morrison's grave."timberridge is terminally vapid" -- a fortune cookie in Yueyang

Maybe it’s just 100 C not F 🤯. Enjoy being in yurp where no one uses a/c in balls hot record heat. I hear Versailles is lovely.

Paris Hot
This could be a good thing. Maybe every Frenchman and woman will be taking (albeit cold) showers all this week.
I kid because it’s funny. And because some 5’ French guy tried to steal my hookup right out from under me one time when I was 20. How that guy didn’t get tossed out on his ear is still confusing to me.
