I’m not saying Christianity correlates with stupidity, but...

    https://www.theguardian.com/books/20...erry-pratchett

More than 20,000 Christians have signed a petition calling for the cancellation of Good Omens, the television series adapted from Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s 1990 fantasy novel – unfortunately addressing their petition to Netflix when the series is made by Amazon Prime.

More than 20,000 supporters have signed a petition in which they say that Good Omens is “another step to make satanism appear normal, light and acceptable”, and “mocks God’s wisdom”. God, they complain, is “voiced by a woman” – Frances McDormand – the antichrist is a “normal kid” and, most importantly, “this type of video makes light of Truth, Error, Good and Evil, and destroys the barriers of horror that society still has for the devil”. They are calling on Netflix to cancel the show.

    That's a little harsh.

Can't we just round them and put them in zoos and charge money for the public to go gawk at them?

And here I'd thought the thread title took care of that.

    Never mind, carry on.

I believe in a higher entity, kind of pantheism more than anything else. No one Holy Book or mainstream religion holds a monopoly on Righteousness or Salvation. It's the walk you walk, not the talk you talk (down on others). Good works (per whatever book) don't lead to Salvation pare se but Salvation always leads to good works. The massive increase in their fear of gays and other equality matters totally turned me away from most organized religions. I don't judge the people but I do hate the way many of them are treating others, pretty much everyone from any marginalized group... and to see them trying to claim to be a marginalized group themselves is beyond ironic.

Most people are pretty fucking stupid, so it stands to reason that if you take any subset of the general population (such as Christians) you'll find a lot of stupid people in it.

I have to think a few of them would have noticed the error if any of them had actually watched the show they're complaining about.
