Used my Orca 75 for the first time this weekend. Heavy as fuck, pretty much left it where I dropped it. Worked great. 2 days and temps in the 60-70’s so not much of a test.
A nice thing is that these are critter proof. I just latched it down and left it outside overnight with no worries of animals getting into it. I’m happy with it but I do think it is way more than I need as a weekend warrior in the PNW.

Yea. I guess I should of put it in the car or the giant steel bear box 5 ft away.
The latches keep the little kid critters out pretty good though

Looks interesting. The lid system seems like it may annoy me. Maybe they'll offer one with a more conventional lid eventually?

WWMD?!?!
I’m going on a houseboat / lake trip. I made 10#s of fresh homemade sausage as my meal contribution for the group. I have to take a plane and a decent drive to get there, say 8 hours of travel. Links are vac sealed and frozen.
Plan A: buy a cheap/disposable foam cooler. Carry it on the plane. Dispose of it at the end of the trip...
Plan B: carry on two small cheap hardside coolers I already own. Plan on returning with them...
Plan C: Check my 45 RTIC both ways...
Plan D: Buy a nice soft side cooler I can stuff in my bag on the way home...

E: buy a cheap hard side cooler to take and donate it to the houseboat, fly back unfettered.

Tape up some cheap styrofoam coolers and check them.
Cheap. No return.

Looks like a couple of Tier 1s with different stickers sitting in the woods.

Best Cooler for few days?
Yeti is Tier 1. My coolers are just posers
Actually the RTIC is my friends.

They all work the same to be honest. RTIC is great. A bit overkill for the weekend trips.
The RTIC is 65 qt and the Orca is 75qt.
Heavy as hell and the interior is a bit smaller than expected but they work great and can’t really see them breaking ever.
