I was about to write this ^^^^
The internet has given the fringe in society more community, making a group feel safer in their kink and more willing to explore it.

Perhaps my voice has more value, does more good locally to create building blocks that eventually reach beyond WW along the lines of "a better world starts at home" though small changes.

Or perhaps it is more valuable to others suggesting gifts and recipes.

What is more congenial than inviting someone into your home for a home cooked meal, and then giving them a gift? You probably have a friend for life. Unless the intent is to kill them afterwards.

very thankful I did all my dirt pre-internet otherwise my political enemies, the red menace, illuminati, woke scolders, church of the subgenius, freemasons, the deep state, et al would use my social media past to destroy my presidential aspirations... as in president of elks #1713.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that as long as it's legal and consensual in my book. Equating kinky folks with killers and molesters is ridiculous. Having said that, I do think the social isolation that the internet encourages is something that humanity is not well adapted to and is causing some societal harm. I think we do need some active management of that on the behalf of all. Really, the biggest mistake was when we all decided that everything on the internet should be free in exchange for our data and advertising. If we were paying directly to use Facebook and Google instead of them existing to serve us targeted advertising, we would all be better off. Of course that fucks over poor people.

I've been following the government shutdown of the internet in Sudan. From a sociology perspective, it's fascinating.

Isn't it stupid to create something that will kill you of it's own volitions? Or is it more of an Oedipus type situation? Sans the sexual overtones.
