Place to camp between Kellogg and Whitefish?

Will be leaving here after a bike race this evening and want to drive about halfway to ride the bike park up there tomorrow.

Non-full of RVs type of places. FS roads?

Not quite to Kellogg but check out north of Kingston, on FS 208.

Right along the north fork of the Coeur d’Alene river.

Beautiful area, great river if you like tossin’ bugs.

You could stay in hot springs. Symes hotel is the main place, but there's 1-2 more. Quinn's is sort of on the way too, and is nicer.

I don't know about actual camping out that way, maybe there's some stuff around thompson falls?

some nice quiet places off 200 and 28 to camp. Once you are on non-private land, and its not marked no camping, have at it.

Southern Mission mountains are the poop. Haven't been in years and it's tribal land, but N Fork of the Jocko area is amazing. However it's a bit off 93.

Figured this might be the thread to use for this one as well:

Where to truck/topper camp near Big Mountain? Racing up there next weekend and want to crash close by thurs and friday night. Favorite FS turnouts, etc. Thanks.

People were RV'ing and tent camping in winter lots off the main lodge road this weekend. Turn off Big Mtn road for the main lodge and look for vacant lots on the right.

If you look on Trailforks, it is the one that Hungry Like a Wolf skirts. I think they might also allow camping in the dirt lot right beneath the main lift, below the Bierstube.

You can camp up at the resort if you want.

If you want something reasonably close to town where you won't be hassled, go here-ish:

    NF-2920, Whitefish, MT 59937

Other spots closer to town may well be fine, but they're not forest service, so they're not a sure thing.

Ah ok sweet. Didn't think you could camp anywhere at the resort. Good to know. If you see a dude with a big mustache on a black Knolly Warden say what's up toast!

I think they technically only allow campers at the resort, and I believe it's $15. If you're aiming to tent camp, they might hassle you. I'm not sure how rigorously enforced any of their rules are, but I'm guessing that plenty of people will be camping for the race.

Just registered for the race - I'll be rocking gray hair and a black guerrilla gravity.

Yeah I'll be pretty stealth in a pickup with a topper/platform setup with tinted windows. I'll scope close to the hill and if its sketch I'll head down to some FS. See ya there.
